5+ years experience with high-temperature composites or hypersonic structures, proficiency with FEA tools, and experience with propulsion components.
We are seeking a Materials & Structures Engineer who will own thermo-structural design and fabrication of propulsion components subjected to extreme envirnonments. Responsibilities: Design and analyze structures exposed to 3000F+ environments Develop nozzle and combustor liners using novel materials Conduct thermal/structural FEA for heat soak-back, creep and fatigue Work with additive manufacturing vendors Evaluate coatings, ablatives, and insulation materials Support fabrication, inspection and failure analysis Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or similar 5+ years experience with high-temperature composites or hypersonic structures Proficiency with ANSYS, ABAQUS, or COMSOL Experience with propulsion components Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or similar Experience with silica phenolic manufacturing and/or other SRM insulation manufacturing processes.
