Title: Manager, Network Operations Center Location(s): Detroit, MI SUMMARY: Are you a demonstrated leader willing and ready to jump in to support the team? The NOC Manager is responsible for the day-to-day function at the Network Operations Center of Everstream which oversees the surveillance and functionality of the Everstream network. Everstream currently operates four (4) NOC's which are located in Cleveland, OH; Lansing, MI; Detroit, MI; and Indianapolis, IN. Primary Responsibilities: • Oversee operations of the Network Operation Center (NOC) • Quality assurance of Network Operations • Oversee development of Process and Procedures • Support Safety culture and advocate safe practices; escalate as needed • Oversee scheduling of NOC technicians, ensuring 24 x 7 x 365 shift coverage • Perform quarterly performance reviews with assigned team members • Mentoring and professional development of direct reports • Review and approve timecards, PTO usage, expense reports • Oversee the hiring, discipline and termination of NOC staff • Other duties as required. Familiarity with: • Everstream escalation process and procedures • routing protocols, including RIP, OSPF, and I/EBGP • OSI layers 1, 2, 3, and 4 switching concepts • IP and router quality-of-service concepts • NOC with long-haul, middle mile carrier • network protocol concepts, including but not limited to, SDH/SONET, DS3, DS1, CWDM, DWDM, Carrier Ethernet and IP • OSS/Inventory/Provisioning software by vendors Job Requirements General • Minimum of 6+ years of previous work experience in team leadership / employee development (NOC, IT or telecommunications environment preferred) • Well versed in fiber optics and fiber optic functionality (including how they work, troubleshooting, etc.) • Must be able to pass background check including motor vehicle report (MVR) • Must be flexible and willing to work occasional nights, weekends and holidays (We are a 24x7x365 environment) based on business needs • Must be available for monthly travel • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Visio; PowerPoint and Project a plus) • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Leadership: • Ability to mentor, coach and support direct reports, as well as indirect reports, as needed • Strong leadership skills and proven success managing diverse teams • Ability to work in a professional and collaborative manner with all levels of employees • Solid communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with diverse personalities across various platforms and media (in-person and virtual). • Must be team oriented as well as able to work independently • Must possess good reasoning abilities, sound judgment • Must have good attention to detail and organizational skills • Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fluid, fast-paced environment Benefits: Everstream Solutions LLC offers competitive compensation as well as a generous employee benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance policies.
