Senior Project Manager – Environmental Investigation & Remediation Location: Ballston Spa, NY (just north of Albany) Salary: $115,000–$140,000+ (depending on experience) Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Work Arrangement: (remote with flexible office presence + ~10–20% site visits) The Opportunity A well-established, multidisciplinary environmental consulting firm is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead long-term brownfield investigation and remediation projects throughout New York State. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality environmental solutions while working closely with private developers, regulators, and internal teams. What You'll Be Doing • Lead complex Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) projects from start to finish • Manage schedules, budgets, invoicing, and compliance with NYSDEC regulations • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and maintain strong client relationships • Oversee and mentor junior staff involved in fieldwork, reporting, and data collection • Perform project planning and team resourcing • Conduct occasional on-site visits (~10–20%) for meetings or progress checks Ideal Experience • 7+ years in environmental investigation/remediation, ideally with Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) experience • Proven ability to manage large-scale projects and guide interdisciplinary teams • Strong communication and coordination skills with both clients and regulators • Prior experience with project financials, including budget tracking and invoicing Preferred Qualifications • Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license • (Licensure is strongly preferred and may support future ownership opportunities) • Solid understanding of New York State environmental regulations • Experience mentoring or supervising junior technical staff What’s on Offer • Competitive salary of $115,000–$140,000+, based on experience • Long-term, stable projects with major environmental impact • Hybrid flexibility – office presence is preferred but negotiable for the right candidate • Work with a collaborative, highly experienced team on transformative land reuse projects
