Evergreen Charter School strives to nurture the intellectual, physical and social development of its students. The role of the ENL Teacher is to deliver language services to English Language Learners. This position is in a K-1 building and also involves coordinating and administering the NYSITELL and NYSESLAT assessments in conjunction with building staff and administration. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Collaborate with fellow grade and or subject level teachers to plan instruction • Facilitate learning by designing lessons for whole class and small group instruction • Implement formative and summative assessments and analyze the data to inform further instruction QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: • Bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited college or university, Master's Degree preferred • Valid New York State ESOL or TESOL Teacher Certification • Knowledge and experience in preparing students for the NYSESLAT/NYSITELL • Commitment to education standards, formative assessments, and accountability • Belief in a structured environment for children • Teaching guided by the New York State English as a Second Language Standards and the ELA Standards • Push-in classroom to support instruction for ENL students • Small group pulled out of mainstream for instruction • Design lesson plans that support acquisition of English • Integrate technology in instructional delivery when appropriate • Maintain a positive learning community where students are engaged in meaningful instruction • Administer assessments to measure student growth and progress Evergreen Charter School offers a competitive compensation package including medical, dental and vision insurance, a 403B retirement plan with match.
