About Evans Distribution Systems Evans Distribution Systems is a privately‑owned third‑party logistics company based in Melvindale, Mich. Our company is run by a fourth‑generation leadership and has operated 3 million square feet of warehousing space in Southeast Michigan for more than 90 years. Evans provides warehousing, fulfillment, value‑added, transportation, and staffing services for a variety of customers in automotive, food & beverage, consumer goods, hazmat, paper/raw materials and government service sectors. We embrace a diverse workforce with associates from many backgrounds, education, and professional disciplines. Job Description Unload inbound shipments safely and move product as needed. Loads and unloads auto parts, racks, dunnage, and other warehouse supplies. Efficiently stack and store merchandise in the appropriate area. Check or count freight for accuracy and/or damage and infestation. Prepare necessary paperwork and submit to Operations Manager. Frequent & repetitive lifting using both hands/arms for items weighing approximately 50 lbs. Lifting frequency may be in excess of 100 repetitions per shift. Frequent bending and twisting at waist/knees/neck while off‑loading and loading trucks. Help maintain cleanliness of warehouse and building grounds. Perform all duties in conformance with appropriate safety and security standards. Assist in warehousing operations as needed, and all other miscellaneous duties as requested by supervisor. Maintain the facility's equipment and materials with integrity in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Responsible for awareness and compliance with warehouse work rules, COVID‑19 and housekeeping policies. Lift using proper safety methods provided by the company. Candidate Requirements High school degree/GED. 3 years' experience in forklift operations is a must. Handle customer products with integrity. Must be able to pass all pre‑employment testing; includes background check and drug test. Details & Location Position located in Brownstown, MI 8am until done Monday through Friday flexible to work overtime, when needed.
