Full Description

Job Summary This position reports to the Dean of the College of Business and Technology and serves as the primary point of contact for the Office of the Dean. The position relieves the Dean of operational and administrative details and performs administrative functions that require a thorough knowledge of college and university policies, procedures, and operations and an understand of the college's role within the community. The position consistently promotes a positive image of the college by greeting and receiving faculty staff, students, and external constituents to the office; understands, accepts, and supports the institution's academic values and the mission of the college and university. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Knowledge of and strong command of the MS Office Suite (Word Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Adobe products, and willingness to learn and utilize new technology as it develops. • Knowledge and understanding of college and university policies and procedures and electronic platforms for work accomplishment. • Strong organizational skills including the ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute required work activities in a busy work environment including handling multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail. • Ability to contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds. • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. • Ability of high level of accuracy and completeness. • Ability to use sound judgement. • Ability to accommodate shifting priorities in a highly charged environment to facilitate the work of the Dean of the College of Business and Technology. • Ability to effectively lead. • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment. • Ability to effectively interpret, analyze, and communicate highly complex internal policy procedural, and process information for operational. planning, and management purpose based on a comprehensive knowledge and under landing of university policies and procedures. • Ability to understand and synthesize complex issues and information. • Ability to coordinate. delegate and implement assignments to meet deadlines. • Ability to maintain effective, working relationship within the office as well as with other academic and administrative divisions. • Ability to keep appropriate matters confidential. • Ability to assume new responsibilities on own initiative and execute them in an effective manner. • Ability to exercise sound independent judgment when making decisions as well as functioning calmly and effectively during times of crisis. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
