Full Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Special Programs to lead and execute our company’s SOF and OGA growth strategy. This individual will identify and pursue domestic and international business opportunities, expand market presence, and oversee program performance for awarded contracts. The Director will report to the Chief Growth Officer and work in close partnership with the business development team to align strategy, execution, and delivery across all phases of the business development lifecycle. This position will also serve as the Program Director for awarded contracts, providing leadership and oversight to assigned Program Managers and contract personnel to ensure successful execution and customer satisfaction. This is a remote position requiring frequent travel to the company’s corporate office in Huntsville, AL, for leadership and program meetings, as well as up to 50% domestic and international travel. Key Responsibilities • Develop and execute the company’s SOF and OGA growth strategy in alignment with corporate goals. • Identify and pursue new opportunities across domestic, international, federal, and commercial markets. • Evaluate and recommend entry into new geographic regions, market sectors, and partnership opportunities. • Lead capture and proposal efforts in coordination with the Proposal and Capture Management teams. • Oversee the transition from contract award to program execution, ensuring compliance, performance, and profitability. • Serve as Program Director for awarded contracts, managing execution, customer relationships, and overall program success. • Provide leadership and guidance to Program Managers and contract personnel assigned under this role. • Build and maintain relationships with government officials, industry partners, and international stakeholders. • Establish teaming agreements, joint ventures, and partnerships that support strategic growth. • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop metrics and dashboards to track growth initiatives and program outcomes. • Represent the company at customer meetings, conferences, and industry events to enhance visibility and strengthen relationships. • Facilitate strategic alignment and communication among government stakeholders, corporate executives, and site-level leadership. • Develop and implement process improvements to optimize workflows as needed across ongoing international efforts. Interpretation and solution development of SOWs (e.g, Project deliverables, Milestone Schedules, acceptance criteria, etc.) Qualifications • A master’s degree in Strategic Intelligence, International Policy, International Studies, or a related field is required, with a preferred specialization in government organizations and international policy. • Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in business development, international growth, or program management within federal contracting or related industries. • Proven success in identifying, winning, and managing large-scale contracts. • Strong knowledge of capture management, proposal processes, and government procurement regulations (FAR/DFARS). • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple contracts or teams and delivering complex projects across diverse regions and cultures, as well as managing international vendors, regulatory requirements, and logistics to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget. • Proven track record of successful risk mitigation and timely delivery of project-critical components. • Excellent strategic thinking, business acumen, and relationship-building skills. • Outstanding leadership, communication, and presentation abilities. • High integrity, adaptability, and alignment with company values. • Fundamental proficiency in German, French, Russian, Ukrainian, or other Eurasian Languages. • Must have a PMP Certification or demonstrated experience as a PM and/or Contracting Officer Representative (COR). Citizenship and Security Clearance • U.S. Citizenship required. • An active Top Secret Clearance with eligibility for SCI. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) • Annual revenue growth and profitability. • Number of new contracts and market expansion. • Business development pipeline health and capture success rate. • Successful program delivery and customer satisfaction. • Expansion into new markets and geographic regions. Work Location • This position is remote; however, frequent travel to the company’s corporate office in Huntsville, AL, is required, as well as domestic and international travel. Travel • Up to 50% of travel is domestic and international.
