About the role We are currently recruiting for a Project Officer - Fleet Acquisitions to join the team on permanent ongoing basis. This position may be located anywhere within Essential Energy’s operational footprint. Due to team alignment and operational requirements, candidates based in Port Macquarie are preferred. The Project Officer - Fleet Acquisitions is responsible for administrative business support services and project management support activities for the Fleet Acquisitions function. Additionally, the role the position will work closely with all stakeholders across Fleet in identifying, coordinating and facilitating the efficient and effective operation of the acquisitions function, including projects and process improvements. Experience managing a range of internal and external stakeholders and knowledge of Heavy Fleet will be highly regarded. Some key position responsibilities include: • Responsible for the coordinating and assisting in the implementation of program/projects and administrative processes for the Fleet team ensuring that business unit and corporate risk management principles are maintained. • Coordinate, collate and contribute to the analysis of asset data and financial accounts, preparing timely reports for all levels of management on current program and project work practices and project life cycle trends to enable design and implementation of business innovation and improvement programs. Develop new custom tailored made reports specifically relating to Fleet acquisition demands. • Participate in the planning, coordination and implementation of project continuous improvement strategies, updating policies and processes and coordination of project resources for Fleet Acquisitions to ensure efficient and effective business continuity. • Deliver ongoing business and administrative services, procurement activities including coordinating order packs, onboarding suppliers, facilitating supplier meetings to support the Fleet team in ensuring all tasks are performed in an efficient and timely manner. About you You have proven experience in project support within the energy industry or a regulated environment, confidently managing multiple tasks, coordinating schedules, risks and issues, and preparing clear, well‑structured documentation and reports. You bring a solid understanding of project management processes and work effectively in cross‑functional teams to support planning, coordination and delivery of project activities. You’re skilled in researching, analysing and presenting data, with strong report‑writing abilities and an innovative mindset. With excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, you liaise professionally with senior leaders and external providers. Your strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and well‑developed organisational skills are supported by proficiency in business systems including Microsoft Office and Oracle Maintenance Cloud. Required Qualifications • Cert IV in Project Management Practice or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
