JOB SUMMARY: Primary function to manage and track inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing. Areas of responsibility involve maintaining accurate inventory records, performing audits, and developing procedures to optimize stock levels and prevent shortages or overstocking. This role collaborates with various departments to ensure efficient inventory management practices and precise inventory management. REPORTS TO: Operations Manager SUPERVISES: Inventory support staff JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INLCUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: · Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all incoming and outgoing inventory, ensuring stock levels are correctly maintained. · Develop strategies to maintain optimal stock levels, preventing both shortages and overstock situations. · Manage the process of receiving new plant material. · Manage and report out inventory turns and crop cycles. · Perform physical inventory counts and cycle counts to verify system accuracy, investigate and reconcile discrepancies. · Review inventory data to identify trends and create reports on inventory levels and issues for management. · Create and maintain inventory control policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy. · Identify and organize obsolete and unsellable plant material. · Perform duties associated with quality and grading by collaborating with order pullers and shipping personnel. · Other duties as assigned. SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAIING: · Familiarity with inventory management software (i.e. eGrow, Plant-X, Agriware, Oracle, SBI, etc.). · Excellent understanding of inventory control. · Excellent organization and time management skills. · Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.). · Strong knowledge of plant material (trees, shrubs, perennials, etc.) and familiar with botanical and common plant names. · The ability to work well under pressure and be flexible in varying situations. · The ability to apply critical thinking with a strong focus on teamwork and leadership skills. · Excellent oral and written communication skills with English as the primary language. Secondary language of Spanish beneficial. · Strong attention to detail and the ability to coordinate and multitask. · Ability to frequently make decisions and use independent judgment, use of discretion, problem analysis, and teamwork. · The ability to perform basic math functions as add, subtract, multiply and divide. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: · High School graduate or equivalent · Minimum 5 years’ experience in inventory management and supply chain management. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: · Frequent standing, sitting, walking and bending. · Extensive use of computer, telephone, and other office equipment. · Continuous talking and listening. · Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS: · Required to work inside office environment and outside (rain or shine), as needed. · Occasional Saturday work as needed.
