How You’ll Contribute: As a Financial Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis, you’ll support the Sr. Manager and VP of Financial Planning & Analysis, as well as the Chief Accounting Officer, in driving company-wide financial planning, forecasting, and analytical initiatives. You’ll leverage advanced Excel and Power BI skills to build models, develop forecasts, and create insightful reports. Your work will support decision-making across departments including Financial Reporting, Investment Accounting, Treasury, Actuarial, and Tax. What You’ll Do: • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analyses. • Support the development and maintenance of company forecasts, plans, and capital plans (e.g., NAIC RBC, AM Best BCAR, and S&P Capital). • Research and monitor updates to capital requirements from the NAIC and rating agencies. • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports. • Participate in tracking organizational and departmental KPIs. • Prepare PowerPoint presentations for senior audiences, including the Board and rating agencies. • Collaborate with departments to gather data for forecasts and ad hoc projects. • Partner with Investment Accounting and the Front Office to support investment analytics and planning. • Identify and implement process improvements and document procedures. • Support other finance and accounting initiatives as needed. • Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive work environment aligned with EquiTrust’s core values. What You’ll Bring: Education: • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Actuarial Science. Experience: • Minimum of 2 years in financial planning and analysis or finance. • Preferred: Process improvement/automation and life insurance or annuity industry experience. • CPA, CFA, or LOMA designation (CFA Level 1 or FRM a plus). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Advanced Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, and ERP system proficiency. • Strong understanding of insurance financial statements and metrics. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Detail-oriented with a data-driven mindset. • Effective communicator and team collaborator. • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Physical Requirements: • Primarily sedentary role requiring frequent sitting and computer use. • Occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. • Regular talking, hearing, seeing, and use of hands for data manipulation. • Moderate stress levels typical of an analytical and deadline-driven environment. Where You’ll Work: • Location: Chicago, Illinois or West Des Moines, IA • Work Arrangements: Mostly Off-Site • Travel Requirements: Occasional (5%-10% of the time) Compensation and Pay Philosophy: The pay range for this role is $65,658.00-$90,280.00. This reflects the expected compensation for the position at the time of posting. The final offer will be based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity, and may be higher or lower than the posted range.
