Our Global Design and Construction team (over 200 people) deliver over 70 projects globally per year and we are in an exciting period of growth across the region including movement into new and emerging markets.Expectations will be to direct day to day activities and operations of a team of local Construction/Operation Project Managers. Making strong tactical decisions to resolve project issues, managing Construction project costs, methods, and project team selection to meet project schedules and goals while working in a multi-faceted environment.OverviewResponsible for all aspects of data center construction for respective projects from project inception, through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and hand-over of an operating facility, that could include ground up construction, fit-outs, remodels, etc. The Project Manager will be responsible for multiple projects of various size and scope, across brown and greenfield sites as well as major remediation works. They will direct all partners, internal (Design, Procurement, Operations, Security and IT/Network) as well as external vendors comprising Contractors, design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers. You will take responsibility for driving a safe, quality first culture, ensuring that all applicable codes, standards, and good construction practices are followed - this includes managing variations between local and Equinix expectation. Ensuring that internal controls are adhered to at each step of the process through effective contract administration including generation, review, management, and monitoring of prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents and documentation.Candidates with strong local construction experience, particularly with a major International Company, or established regional firm will be highly regarded.Key responsibilities:ManagementProvides guidance to Construction/Operations Project Managers who are driving the delivery to day-to-day Construction/Operations projectsSets goals for immediate team membersProject ManagementManages multiple smaller projects or single larger construction projectLead by example on safety, standards, and cultureManage and monitor project progress, quality and compliance with building regulationsEnsuring projects are meeting or exceeding company expectationsOverview and management of project risk registersLeads internal stakeholders in the development of new data center projects from concept to business approvalVendor RelationsDirects external vendors per project comprising general contractors, A&E design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers etc.Contributes to establishing and maintaining high value relationshipsTraining ProgramsSupports in identifying and developing training programsSupports cross-functional trainingContract AdministrationManages contract administration procedures including generation, review, and monitoring of prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents and documentationLiaising with local authorities and relevant State agencies and departmentsLeadershipDirects internal and external project team members including internal Design, Procurement, Operations, Commercial and IT/Network support teamsMentors junior team members as needed Policy & Procedure DevelopmentManages maintaining best in class policies and proceduresManages project closure, handover and lessons learned processes are established and implementedQualifications, key skills and experience:Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, construction project management and or with equivalent experienceExperience with end-end construction project management that includes critical Infrastructure for Data center, Pharmaceutical, Bio-tech or similar environmentsCustomer focused, Self-motivated and adaptable, with ability to take initiative where required and attain and maintain all training and information quicklyIn-depth knowledge of relevant statutory regulations and industry best practice locally, as well as ability and ideally proven experience in adhering to wider company, regional or global standardsExperienced in construction procurement methodologiesPreferred: proficiency with Microsoft Project, experience developing new data center projects, experience leading an internal cross-functional teamBenefits of the role:Salary package including company shares and annual bonus in permanent positionsOngoing pipeline of work offering great job security and stabilityExciting time of growth for Equinix, chance to take a lead role on projects across SEA in the future as we extend our portfolio of sitesNewly created role so a chance to make an immediate impact for the businessSupporting team culture locally and regionally, in-depth onboarding and training to ensure success in the roleEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
