This role involves troubleshooting complex network problems, ensuring optimal network performance, and collaborating with upper management and various departments to implement effective solutions and provide ongoing support.Supports the Network Architecture team to translate architecture requirements into platform level configurations. Performs tests that support deployment readiness decision within a moderate scope.ResponsibilitiesRespond to and resolve escalated network incidents and service requests from the first-level support team, ensuring timely and effective solutionsTroubleshoot and diagnose complex network issues, including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and hardware failuresMonitor network performance using various tools and dashboards to ensure high availability and reliability of servicesCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and operations, to implement network changes, improvements, and new technologies.Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and network configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing and future referenceAssist in the development and maintenance of comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, procedures, and policiesParticipate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as needed to maintain service continuityStay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance the capabilities of the NOCMentor and train junior network engineers and support staff, providing guidance on best practices and troubleshooting techniquesConduct regular network assessments and capacity planning to accommodate growth and changes in technologyProvide technical support and training to staff on network-related issues and best practicesQualificationsExperience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologiesFamiliarity with network security practices and technologiesBachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical electronic Information Technology, or a related fieldProven years of experience in network engineering or a similar roleExperience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologiesRelevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIP, JNCIS, Network+) are a plusExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong communication and teamwork abilitiesStrong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS etc.) and technologies (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers)Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholdersMaintain an open mind when addressing network problem situationsEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
