Epson Portland Inc. is looking for a Technical Support Specialist II to lead advanced IT support initiatives and drive operational excellence across our organization. In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert for diagnosing complex technical issues, managing system upgrades, and scripting. You’ll work across departments to ensure smooth IT operations, support infrastructure improvements, and deliver top-tier service to internal users. What You’ll Do: • Provide hands-on support for hardware, software, and network issues • Configure and maintain operating systems and applications • Set up new user accounts and workstations • Monitor and manage IT tickets, ensuring timely resolution • Automate tasks using scripting tools like PowerShell • Collaborate with senior engineers on network and system administration • Lead small-scale IT projects aligned with business goals • Serve as a technical liaison across teams What We’re Looking For: • Familiarity with tools like Lansweeper, BigFix, HelpSpot, ConnectWise • 4+ years in Microsoft desktop support • Certifications: ITIL, Network+, PowerShell scripting (required) • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments (preferred) • Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, Why Epson? Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent applicable education and work experience is preferred • Minimum 3 years of experience in Information Technology (Microsoft desktop support) is required • ITIL, Network+ Certification, and PowerShell scripting required • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft, Cisco, or ITIL) are strongly preferred • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts or experience using AI tools (e.g., chatbots, automation platforms, Python scripting, or low-code AI solutions) is preferred • Proficient in Microsoft operating systems, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN systems, WAN protocols, Veritas Netback up, VPN/SSL solutions, imaging solutions, routers and switches, network monitoring tools and their usage and security devices including VPN, and anti-virus and firewalls • Advanced PC skills required, including Microsoft, VMware administration and support • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with all levels of personnel • Solve problems using critical thinking and sound judgment • Manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently; prioritizing workload to consistently meet deadlines and production requirements Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in a warehouse, manufacturing, cleanroom, and/or office environment that is subject to moderate to high levels of noise, specialized apparel and safety equipment, and moving mechanical parts. This position will have exposure to and use of materials listed in the company’s Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee conducts primarily light work with frequent periods of standing, walking, talking, listening, climbing, squatting, visual inspection of documentation, pushing, and pulling. This position requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds on occasion with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Repetitive motions (movements) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers are required.
