Job Title: Incubatenergy Labs Program Associate Location: Remote/Home Based Job Summary and Description: The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) is seeking a Program Associate to support Incubatenergy Labs® (IEL), an industry-leading technology demonstration program that connects early-stage startups with energy utilities to execute rapid, proof-of-concept demonstrations. IEL uses a collaborative model to help utilities identify, test, and validate new technologies that address key innovation challenges. The program is recognized for its rigorous evaluation process, which reviews hundreds of startup solutions from around the world. The most promising startups are invited to present their ideas to energy utilities. Over the past seven years, IEL has completed nearly 100 demonstration projects and distributed over $10 million in funding. Purpose of the Position EPRI is seeking a Program Associate to help deliver IEL program activities and demonstrations in a valuable, timely, and innovative way. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of energy innovation, startups, and utilities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about power sector innovation, startup commercialization, and new technology testing. You will be involved in day-to-day program delivery and collaborate with EPRI experts, utility advisors, and startups throughout the scouting, technical review, demonstration design and execution, and information-sharing processes. Your work will include: - Supporting technical searches and analysis for project teams. - Conducting research as directed by the project manager. - Working under general supervision. - Assisting with IEL program operations, including challenge definition, startup scouting, technical review, demonstration planning, and sharing results. - Helping manage timelines, meeting materials, communications, and internal reporting. - Preparing program communications and supporting event coordination for Pitch Day and Demo Day. - Collaborating with EPRI teams, utility members, and startups to ensure smooth program execution. Key Responsibilities and Requirements - Conducts technical searches and analyzes technical information in support of the project team. - May conduct research at the direction of the project manager. - Work is performed under general supervision. Education Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Interest in emerging technologies and power sector innovation. Experience in startups or corporate innovation is a plus. - Strong project coordination and organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks. - Excellent communication skills for supporting cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. - Experience coordinating events, including logistics and communications for both virtual and in-person settings. - Comfortable with data analysis and reporting, and able to quickly learn new tools and systems. The salary range for this position is $80,000 USD to $90,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan. This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s standard employee benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, vision, 401k, STD/LTD and paid family leave, life and accident insurance, paid time off (flexible vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay).
