As a (c)4 organization, EDF Action is allowed to engage in political activity and works to help elect candidates that support the organization’s objectives. The Associate, Communications will help EDF Action communicate its work advocating for issues including clean energy and climate action and in support of candidates that are aligned with our issues. The position reports to the Communications Director, EDF Action. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain a national database of storytellers that support our climate and clean energy advocacy Pitch stories to reporters working in print, digital, radio and TV Extend and maintain media lists including reporters and editors across the U.S. Develop and post compelling content for EDF Action and related social media channels including but not limited to LinkedIn, Bluesky, Facebook and Instagram Help maintain the EDF Action website Assist in the planning and execution of in-person and virtual press conferences Prepare the team for conferences including the Society of Environmental Journalists and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists Research special projects Participate in advancing EDF’s organizational effectiveness and culture goals, so people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included and empowered to address environmental and organizational challenges in ways that align with EDF values Qualifications Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of administrative work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. A Bachelor’s degree may substitute for up to two years of relevant experience.
