Requires 10+ years in national security/federal government maritime defense, US citizenship, current security clearance, strong network in defense community, and experience with defense acquisition and maritime systems.
Entrokey Labs Director, Business Development, Naval & Maritime Location: Washington DC metro area Summary: Results-oriented Director, Business Development, Naval & Maritime to enter new market areas and bring new clients to the company. Work as part of a small, fast-moving team in a cutting-edge start-up which is exponentially advancing the state-of-the-possible in cybersecurity. The ideal candidate will bring established relationships within the relevant sector, expertise in cybersecurity and/or digital transformation, and a demonstrated track record of closing deals. Polished professional with hunter instinct + team-mindset and willing to sweep floors when needed. Essential Tasks: End-to-end Business Development activities to identify, pursue, and close new business deals. • Hunter mentality; generate and capture business opportunities with ultimate requirement to grow revenue. Grow a deep understanding of the existing and prospective client base; know their current and planned programmatic and technical roadmap. Plan, initiate, and manage continuous engagements with current clients and prospective customers. Monitor buying cycles for opportunities • Communicate our value when representing Entrokey Labs to a broad audience: clients, partners, competitors, and the interested public, conveying our approach to building next-generation cybersecurity protection and our competitive edge in doing so • Partner with technical team and product engineers to identify opportunities for business growth with clients • Support proposals, including authoring material for and reviewing RFI, RFP, SBIR, OTA, and other requests, with emphasis on defense and commercial maritime markets and industries • Inform product development with feedback from current or prospective clients. Must be able to translate client challenges into an actionable internal understanding for the product roadmap Minimum Education and Attributes: • Bachelors degree, with preference for technical field (engineering or applied science) but may substitute experience in the maritime services (Navy or Coast Guard) as military or civilian • Minimum of 10 years relevant professional experience in national security/Federal government space • US citizen • Current U.S. Secret security clearance; Top Secret preferred Required Skills and Experience: • Proven business development and growth professional who has validated experience building, executing, and winning business capture strategies with an emphasis on national defense in the maritime arena and related industries • Bring and leverage strong network in the target community • Demonstrated knowledge in defense acquisition processes • Experience in the technical, programmatic, and operational challenges of maritime ashore, surface, and/or subsurface systems and platforms • Demonstrated high-energy, high-ownership leader who will drive performance and exhibit strong management skills with strong level of emotional intelligence • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial environment; demonstrated effective market expansion and penetration strategies • Excellent writing, communication skills with experience briefing senior executives and customers • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant maritime national security programs, platforms, and payloads • Excellent oral and written communication skills to develop external/internal papers and presentations • MS Office experience (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) • Willingness to travel 30%, mainly domestic with limited OCONUS Preferred Experience: • Knowledge of autonomous vehicles (sub-surface and surface) highly desired • Knowledge of cryptographic enterprise helpful • Nuclear power understanding/experience helpful • Winning $15M+ opportunities with US federal organizations • Expertise in defense and commercial industries or complex engineering systems • Knowledge and experience with government acquisition and contract structures • Use of Salesforce Please send resumes to Tristan.Hearn@entrokeylabs.com.
