Develop and lead medical device software in Radiology AI, collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure quality and patient safety, and support customer needs.
10+ years software development in Radiology with Java expertise, knowledge of Radiology standards (DICOM, IHE), Linux proficiency, Agile experience, and familiarity with cloud, containerization, and regulatory compliance.
This is a remote position. Position Responsibilities Be an integral part of an experienced team of engineers building cutting edge medical device software in the Radiology AI space. A key contributor and subject matter expert in the organization. Drives change and advocate for their designs across the company. May also produce new intellectual property and/or innovative solutions for the organization. Accountable for the success of current and future designs. Are very influential in matters of technology selection and development. Anticipates risks and opportunities for the company. Brings forward ideas for making things better. Be a trusted participant in customer interactions. Recommend alternatives and improvements. Build relationships and trust with customers, suppliers and others. Collaborate with your team, Product Managers, and Data Scientists on changes, enhancements and features. Participate in design and requirement reviews to shape the trajectory of our products and improve patient outcomes. Write technical documentation and effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and ideas. Commit to quality and place patient safety at the forefront of your work. From time to time, you may be required to provide on-call engineering support for critical customer needs aligned with company policies and processes Requirements Location Remote Education Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience Required Experience: 10+ years working experience as a software developer under a modern development process (Agile, Scrum) in Radiology space. Deep knowledge of DICOM, IHE, and associated Radiology Systems. Programming experience with Java. Comfortable working in a Linux environment. Understanding of Web protocols and standards (HTTP/HTTPS, REST, WebSockets, CORS). Familiarity with software engineering concepts including multi-threading and concurrency, data structures, memory management as well as client-server and microservices architectures. Experience using modern software development tools like Git, and Jira. Desired Experience: Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) Healthcare and Radiology standards (DICOM, HL7/FHIR) Container and Virtualization technologies (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes) Infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Chef, Ansible) Networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP, gRPC) RDBMS and NoSQL storage engines (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch). Modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular). Python or Java application frameworks (WildFly, Spring/Spring Boot) ISO/QMS Requirements Understand and practice all requirements of EN ISO 13485:2016 ISO 13485:2016 MDSAP (including 21 CFR 820) QMS Manual Process Flows Work Instructions Experience with EN ISO 62304:2006 is a plus Comply with applicable regulatory requirements (including but not limited to MDSAP participating countries and CE Marking).
