Summary - basic function of the role The Enerpac Sales Application Engineer for Heavy Lifting Technology provides technical sales support by helping customers select the right equipment, reviewing drawings and specifications, assisting with presentations and quotes, and leading on-site job assessments. The role includes troubleshooting field issues, supporting retrofit and redesign efforts, delivering product training, and maintaining tools like Salesforce and CPQ. Success requires strong mechanical/hydraulic knowledge, the ability to simplify complex problems, strong communication skills, and the agility to manage multiple priorities in industrial environments with up to 25% travel. Job Duties and Responsibilities • Provide application support around equipment selection of products • Review and analysis of technical drawings, customer specification • Support identification of market applications and target end users in specific verticals • Assist front line commercial team with presentations, quotations, and the overall sales process • Assist and lead on-site job assessments requiring consultative review and recommendations • Troubleshooting, Quality, and Field Product performance support • Support equipment retrofit redesign, sourcing, and qualification initiatives • Lead product training for face-to-face class instruction, virtual, field, and video training platforms. • Assist with lead qualification and maintaining the SFDC funnel • Implement updates and maintain SFDC Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) tool for proposal development • May have to work in environments that require industrial safety protocol • May travel up to 25%. Skills and Competencies • Read and interpret documents such as operating procedural manuals, maintenance instructions, safety rules and MSDS. Ability to enter routine maintenance reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers or employees of organization. • Deliver technical training instruction using multiple communication channels (verbal, PPT, video) • Calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Resolve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. • Computer skills include knowledge of Microsoft Windows software suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) and company business ERP system. • Possesses the ability to clarify complex situation • Able to manage multiple priorities with a bias towards action and speed • Searches for solutions, drives continuous improvement and constantly raises the bar to stretch own and others' levels of achievement • Excellent verbal communication skills are needed to work effectively with customers and internal groups, individually and in front of groups. • Valid Driver's License and Passport, or ability to obtain a passport Education and Experience • Preferred Minimum of a 2-year technical degree with significant in-depth technical experience or a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering. • Minimum 2-5 years experience working with hydraulic applications preferred. • Minimum 2-5 years experience in product training or support in a tool industry is a plus. • Bilingual is preferred but not required. Physical Demands Employee may have to lift documents/work materials up to 30 pounds in weight. Employee may have to lift tools up to 50 pounds in weight. Employee will have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling by air/auto to remote sites. This can include occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like. Employee may move themselves in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces. Employee will need to move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another. Employee will need to operate machinery and/or power tools, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee will need to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Employee can work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time. Will have repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Work Environment Primary work environment is temperature-controlled home office setting but may also be visiting different company facilities or customers where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required. While visiting company facilities or visiting customers, employee may be exposed to high/low temperatures, outdoor elements (such as precipitation and wind), high levels of noise, hazardous conditions, small and/or enclosed spaces, or adverse environmental conditions.
