Job DescriptionJob Description The plant manager is responsible for overseeing the plant floor's production and day-to-day operations to ensure everything flows smoothly. The plant manager makes sure orders are filled in a timely fashion, quality is insured through out all parts, safety standards are followed, and a healthy work environment is fostered for all employees. Leadership is an essential function for a plant manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Oversees the manufacturing of various products ensuring that quantity and quality requirements are met • May assist in interviewing new staff • Training new staff • Oversees the daily workflow of the department • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy • Oversees the production quotas and schedules, ensuring inventory and shipment targets are met • Collaborates with Materials Management to verify, review, and maintain a report on materials and production inventories • Performs other related duties as assigned Qualifications • Equivalent industry work experience required or; Associate’s degree in related field, Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, Business, or related field • At least three years of supervisory experience highly • Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory. • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers. • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times. • Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
