We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Design Group in our Fairfax, VA office. As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be a key player in completing the design and construction administration for small to medium-sized projects, as well as collaborating within larger design teams for substantial projects. We are looking for a highly experienced mechanical engineer with in-depth knowledge of various mechanical system designs, including DX packaged systems, hydronic systems, chilled water plants, heating water plants, and plumbing. Responsibilities: • Construction Documentation: Develop plans, sections, schedules, details, controls, cost estimates, and specifications for mechanical systems. • Engineering Design Analysis: Conduct mechanical system selection, energy and life cycle cost analysis, and ensure designs meet energy and sustainable design targets. • Team Engagement: .Coordinate with other disciplines and project stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution. • Technical Expertise: Develop control strategies, calculations, system concepts, layouts, and designs. • Mentorship: Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical support to junior engineers and staff members, fostering their professional growth. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or architectural engineering or related field from an ABET accredited program. Master's degree . • 11 - 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the consulting industry. • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the commonwealth of Virginia or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment. • Proficient knowledge of a variety of mechanical system designs, including DX packaged systems, hydronic systems, chilled water plants, heating water plants, and plumbing. • Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design software. • Familiarity with relevant codes and guidelines. • Experience in sustainable design practices. • Excellent interdisciplinary coordination skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. • US Citizenship required Benefits: WRA recognizes that employees play an important role in its success.
