The Compliance Specialist will provide administrative and operational support to the Hospital Compliance Officers in maintaining and monitoring the hospital’s compliance program. This includes assisting with documentation, data collection, education, reporting, and other essential compliance functions.

Requirements

A High School Diploma or GED is required, with a Bachelor's Degree preferred. Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in a professional environment, preferably with prior administrative or compliance support experience in healthcare.

Position Overview The Compliance Specialist will provide administrative, and operations support to the Hospital Compliance Officers in maintaining and monitoring the hospital’s compliance program. This role will assist with documentation, data collection, education, reporting and other essential compliance functions to help ensure the hospital meets all compliance standards. Essential Job Functions Provide designated reports and assist with gathering and reporting results in a timely manner. Provides support including preparation of reports and presentations. Assist in obtaining supporting documentation for referral source payment audits. Assist Committees with scheduling, preparing agendas, and documenting minutes. Assist with medical record amendment process, which includes, receiving, logging, and tracking requests. Oversee the Compliance and Privacy Hotline distribution to the perspective compliance personnel to review. Assist with tracking and compiling compliance education completion reports. Assist with data collection including compiling compliance related data and metrics. Provide support on data entry for internal monitoring and auditing activities. Track and support timely follow-up on reports under the direction of the Hospital Compliance Officers. Assist with planning and coordination of the annual compliance week with hospital wide compliance awareness. Assist with pulling data for the quarterly compliance facility assessments. Support the Hospital Compliance Officers by assisting with multiple projects as assigned. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality. Other Job Functions Attend department meetings and other company meetings as required Perform other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, required Bachelors Degree, preferred 5+ years’ experience working in a professional environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, required Prior administrative or compliance support experience in the healthcare, preferred Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare compliance, preferred Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and PDF), required Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication Core Competencies Attention to detail and accuracy. Professionalism and ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments. Strong problem solving and prioritization skills. Commitment to ethical conduct and compliance principles.
