Founded in 2017, and located in Scottsdale, Arizona, Emerge is one of the fastest-growing technology startups in the U.S. Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and experienced After Hours Operations Lead to support overnight logistics operations and ensure consistent, high-quality execution across all active shipments. This role serves as a primary point of contact for both customers and carriers outside of standard business hours and is responsible for managing real-time operations, resolving issues, and maintaining service continuity. This is a remote, hands-on operations role that reports directly to the Manager of After Hours Operations, who provides leadership support and escalation guidance. The Operations Lead is responsible for executing day-to-day operations, helping keep the team on pace, and ensuring priorities are managed effectively throughout the shift. This role does not have direct reports but carries shift ownership and leadership responsibility. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in freight brokerage or logistics, communicates professionally in time-sensitive situations, and is comfortable making decisions independently. While primarily operational, this role may occasionally require stepping in to secure carrier capacity in exception or recovery scenarios. Our Future Teammate • Is a self-starter who takes direction but doesn’t wait for it • Stays composed and makes sound decisions in time-sensitive situations • Communicates clearly and professionally with both customers and carriers • Has strong attention to detail and understands how it impacts the bigger picture • Takes pride in ownership, accountability, and follow-through • Is adaptable and comfortable managing changing priorities in real time • Brings a positive attitude and contributes to a strong, team-oriented environment Daily Goals • Ensure all shipments are accurately tracked and updated in the TMS for customer visibility • Maintain tracking compliance through tools such as project44, Macropoint and ELD • Proactively identify and resolve service issues, including delays, exceptions, and OS&D events • Communicate updates, risks, and escalations to customers in a timely and professional manner • Partner with carriers to resolve issues and maintain service expectations • Occasionally step in to secure carrier capacity in time-sensitive or recovery situations • Help keep the overnight team on pace by prioritizing workload and addressing critical issues • Document key updates and outstanding items to ensure a smooth handoff to the day team • Partner with the Manager of After Hours Operations on escalations and overall shift execution Your Talent & Experience Includes • Proven experience as an Operations Representative, Account Executive, Carrier Specialist, or in other sales/customer service roles • Strong understanding of shipment lifecycle, carrier management, and service expectations • Proven ability to manage various communication in time-sensitive environments • Experience securing carrier capacity or handling recovery scenarios is a plus • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills • Strong communication skills with the ability to remain professional and solution-oriented under pressure • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with leadership on shift • Familiarity with TMS platforms, communication agents (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams) and tracking tools (e.g., project44) preferred Schedule & Work Environment • Overnight shift • Fully remote • Full-time position with opportunity for growth Physical Requirements • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer • Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
