In this position, you'll provide engineering services both internally and externally to EMCOR, working closely with customers, sales engineers, project engineers, field service labor, service managers, and subcontractors to deliver control solutions across diverse projects. ## What You'll Do ### Design and Engineering Work You'll assist in the takeoff and estimating of HVAC control systems on both new and retrofit jobs, helping develop HVAC control system designs from initial concept through completion. A significant part of your role involves preparing BAS control submittals for delivery to owners and contractors, writing sequences of operation that get included in those submittals, and developing control logic for control systems using JCI CCT. Throughout the installation phase, you'll maintain control submittal updates in the field and provide final updates to submittals while preparing BAS closeout documents. You'll also maintain the control job library and database on the network drive to ensure team access to historical information and project references. ### Project Management and Automation Managing automation projects represents a substantial component of this position. You'll develop request for quotation documentation for installing subcontractors, qualify and hire subcontractors, and manage those relationships throughout the project lifecycle. Your scheduling skills will be essential as you develop job scheduling and phasing while maintaining updated schedules. You'll order project materials, manage deliveries to jobsites, prepare purchase orders, and authorize payments to material suppliers and subcontractors. Regular jobsite visits and attendance at job meetings keep you connected to field operations and customer needs. You'll provide support to field personnel and service technicians during installation and startup phases, manage project modifications and contract change orders, and monitor automation job financial status using COINS. Your responsibilities extend to assisting with progress billings, providing startup and commissioning assistance using the CCT programming tool as required, offering owner training on completed jobs, and delivering comprehensive project closeout documentation. Customer conflict resolution and contract collections assistance round out your project management duties. ### Professional Development You'll be expected to learn and implement EMCOR's safety program rules and policies, attend controls training classes for field products like Johnson Controls and Tridium, and continuously educate yourself on existing and new computer and software technology. This includes proficiency with Windows and MS Office programs such as Visio, Word, Excel, Power. Point, and Project, as well as engagement with EMCOR .NET learning opportunities and yearly business required courses. You'll develop a thorough understanding of EMCOR Northeast office personnel, their respective responsibilities, and workflow processes. ## Requirements You must have either a Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering, OR 10 years of experience in HVAC. DDC controls programming experience is required, with JCI CCT preferred. Between 5-10 years of DDC controls experience is preferred, and project management experience is also preferred. ## Why Join Us As a leading provider of mechanical and electrical construction, facilities services, and energy infrastructure, we offer employees a competitive salary and benefits package. We're always seeking individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success. This is an onsite position based in Stoughton, MA.
