Overview We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving growth and expanding our market presence through strategic planning and effective relationship management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business development, sales, and project management, with a proven ability to negotiate and close deals. You will leverage CRM software, including Salesforce, to manage customer relationships and track sales performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Note: Other duties may be assigned. Business Development Operations • Manage Sales life cycle and supporting processes, including development, governance, and tracking of Proposals and Change Orders. • Oversee scoping process working with Sr. Directors of Strategic Account Management and supporting teams (e.g., Science & Medicine, Client Services, Product Innovation) in development of Proposals and Change Orders. • Oversee Pipeline tracking and reporting. • Maintain relevant tools that support the Proposal process, templates, pricing models and customer discount schedules. • Facilitate continuous process improvement in proposal development/review efforts. • Oversee coordination with Contracts Management, including finalisation of WOs and COs to executed contracts, tracking and working with Operations and Finance where appropriate regarding the reporting of contract status,) and prioritization of Proposals and Change Orders. • Work with Project Managers to identify Out-of-Scope tasks; develop, prepare and execute Change Orders. • Oversee preparation management of Weekly Pipeline, Monthly Sales and Pipeline Financial Reporting meetings. • Manage the maintenance, updating, and ongoing development of relevant systems such as SalesForce.com, Reporting Dashboards and databases for RFI and RFP information. • Assist where necessary in the preparation for capabilities and bid defense meetings, from presentation development to meeting attendees. • Attend Operational/Delivery project status meetings (internal and external), as necessary. • Attend product meetings, from focus groups to steering committee meetings. Business Analytics and Reporting • Ensure routine communication regarding the status of pipeline opportunities amongst Sales, Clinical, Product, and Delivery. • Oversee the reporting of Sales activities (pipeline, wins, losses) including routine weekly and monthly financial reporting, and quarterly and annual Operating Plan evaluation. Departmental Management • Manage direct reports responsible for day-to-day Sales activities and drive inputs from cross-functional teams actively involved in those activities. • Maintain department staffing plan. • Develop and lead training activities to ensure appropriate resource development and employee satisfaction/retention. Skills & CompetenciesEducation • Bachelor’s degree with MBA or equivalent • Relevant experience at CRO or sponsor vendor Experience • Knowledge of, and direct experience with, BD Operations supporting professional technology enabled services to Pharmaceutical drug development industry. • Ten (10) years of professional experience with a five (5) years in pricing/cost budget development. • Significant experience with financial modeling and business case development as well as with key performance indicator (KPI) measurement and analytics. • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SFDC • Previous experience with personnel management, including employee strategy and tactics for employee hiring, training/development and termination.
