About the Opportunity Ellucian is seeking a motivated, growth-minded Associate Solutions Architect to join our Professional Services team in designing and developing scalable, cloud-based SaaS solutions that shape the future of higher education. In this role, you will support the technical pre-sales process by partnering with sales teams to design, demonstrate, and articulate solutions that showcase value and enable institutions to make informed technology decisions that drive student success. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and apply modern development practices while leveraging tools across cloud platforms, development frameworks, and AI-assisted technologies. Where you will make an impact Solution Architecture: Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to design and prototype scalable SaaS solutions that demonstrate technical feasibility and business value. Technical Development: Translate client requirements into functional, well-engineered solutions that bridge pre-sales concepts with implementation. Cloud and DevOps Practices: Apply CI/CD workflows, infrastructure as code, and automated deployment processes using tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and Terraform to ensure efficient, scalable, and reliable solution delivery. Quality Assurance: Develop maintainable, well-documented solutions with unit and functional tests aligned to team standards and best practices. AI Implementation: Leverage AI tools and platforms to enhance development workflows, automate tasks, and deliver intelligent features that improve the higher education experience. Collaboration & Agile Delivery: Work effectively within Agile teams, contributing to sprints, retrospectives, and cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation and successful outcomes. What You Will Bring Experience: 0–2 years in software, cloud, or platform engineering through internships, academic projects, or personal initiatives. Customer Engagement: Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical solutions into clear business value for diverse audiences. Programming: Proficiency in one or more languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Java, Python, or Go, with a commitment to continuous learning. Front-End & Cloud: Familiarity with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, HTML5), back-end APIs, or major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Software Fundamentals: Understanding of core concepts including object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms. APIs & Integrations: Exposure to RESTful or GraphQL APIs and interest in developing scalable integration solutions. Databases: Foundational knowledge of relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB), with an eagerness to learn cloud-native database services. DevOps & Tooling: Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and common developer tools; curiosity about infrastructure-as-code and cloud automation practices. AI & Innovation: Interest in leveraging AI-powered tools to enhance coding, testing, and problem-solving efficiency. Collaboration & Growth: Strong teamwork skills, openness to feedback, and a proactive approach to learning and professional development. Bonus Skills: Familiarity with higher education systems or enterprise SaaS environments is a plus.
