Start Date: ASAP | End Date: December 31, 2025 | Schedule: 25 hours per week (Remote, United States) | Employment Type: Contract ELB Learning is seeking a skilled and adaptable Instructional Designer/Developer to join our team for a new, client-facing learning project. This contract role will focus on gathering and structuring content, creating storyboards, and building engaging eLearning courses using Articulate Rise and Storyline. Exposure to learning strategy, as well as experience working within the ADDIE framework, will set candidates apart. The ideal resource will be comfortable collaborating with subject matter experts, developing learning assessments, and applying proven instructional models like Bloom’s Taxonomy. Familiarity with video development is a plus, and support is available if needed. Key Responsibilities • Analyze and interpret project, learner, and business requirements to define course objectives and solution scope. • Gather, organize, and synthesize source content from multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop course frameworks. • Create clear, detailed content outlines and storyboards for course modules, guided by instructional strategy and best practices. • Develop interactive and accessible eLearning courses in Articulate Rise and Articulate Storyline, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and client branding. • Apply the ADDIE process—analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation—throughout content creation projects. • Design and implement assessment strategies using Bloom’s Taxonomy, including knowledge checks, formative, and summative assessment items. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and SMEs to iterate on content, securing feedback and sign-off at key milestones. • Ensure all digital assets are user-friendly, engaging, and meet accessibility guidelines. • Support project managers by reporting progress, identifying roadblocks, and escalating risks as needed. • If applicable, support or coordinate video production for multimedia course components (video development skills are a plus but not required). Required Skills & Qualifications • Proven experience developing eLearning courses in Articulate Rise and Articulate Storyline. • Demonstrated expertise creating detailed storyboards and content outlines based on instructional goals. • Understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design best practices, and learning theory, including ADDIE and Bloom’s Taxonomy. • Experience designing assessments aligned to learning outcomes. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate requirements into clear instructional content. • Ability to work independently and proactively in a hybrid or remote team environment. • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently. • Exposure to learning strategy and the process of aligning instructional materials to broader business objectives. • Familiarity with video editing, scripting, or multimedia development a plus, but not required. Education & Professional Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Communications, or related field strongly preferred. • 3+ years’ experience in instructional design, eLearning development, or curriculum design for digital learning projects. • Previous work with Articulate 360 suite (Rise, Storyline) is required. • Experience collaborating with cross-functional or client-facing teams in a project-based environment.
