Default Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Hours: 40 Salary range: $41.00 - $62.28 Schedule: Full Time Shift Hours: 8 Hour employee Department: Information Systems Job Objective: Manages, automates and optimizes the care and support of servers, core application infrastructure, workstations and/or mobile devices at Eisenhower Medical Center (EMC). This position will work in one of two areas: desktop support or data center support. Job Description: Education: Required: Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science or an additional four (4) years of applicable experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree Licensure/Certification: Required: Advanced certificates in Citrix, Firewall, SAN, Cyber security, Network+, Security+, Backup and Recovery, Cloud technologies, etc.; Epic Client System Administrator (ECSA) required if assigned to ECSA role Preferred: MCITP, MCTS, A+, Network+, MCSA, CISSP Experience: Required: Four (4) years of experience as a System Administrator or equivalent IT role Preferred: Experience working within a regulated enterprise environment and with the creation of architecture, process, and procedural documentation; experience with compliance audits and risk assessments Reports To: Manager or Director Supervises: N/A Ages of Patients: N/A Blood Borne Pathogens: Minimal/ No Potential Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Ability to create and maintain positive interpersonal relations with peers, users, and vendors in the disposition of duties; ability to coach other technical staff on advanced topics, Ability to quickly evaluate and resolve complex issues while following industry standards and best practices, Excellent communication, documentation, and follow-up skills are required on a daily basis in this position Emphasis on being security minded and relies on experience to ensure a safe and secure computing environment, Excellent time and project management skills, Extensive knowledge in hardware and software management systems (LANDesk) use building packages, pushing software, testing package pushes, and general IT asset management, Extensive knowledge managing an Enterprise level Exchange environment, Extensive knowledge of the following services, applications and concepts, including but not limited to: Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, Certificate Services, LANDesk, PXE, Citrix, VMware, P2V, P2P, Symantec Endpoint, hardware independent imaging, sysprep, PRTG, Active Administrator, networking, scripting (bash, vbscript, powershell, etc.), Windows DSC, IT security best practices, EPIC server/application, Knowledge of Cisco UCS and other rack-mount/blade server hardware, Knowledge of enterprise backup systems (CommVault preferred), de-duplication, and Disaster Recovery solutions, Knowledge of operating systems: Current on the supported versions of Windows Server, Windows 7Pro, Win 10 Ent, Apple iOS, Apple OSx and Linux - deployment, upgrades, and changes, Proficient in managing a SAN fabric as well as storage management; ability to carve and present LUNs, review performance, expand as needed, all while following industry standards and best practices; storage solutions including, but not limited, to: VNX, XtremIO, and Isilon, Self-starter; driven to take action without needing prompting, Strong log file analysis skills to facilitate troubleshooting which can include, but not limited to Windows Event logs, crash dump files, and application logs, Strong organization, facilitation, and team building skills, Technical writing skill needed for the creation of data center documentation, knowledge base articles and other procedures Essential Responsibilities 1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations. 2. Formulates and executes design and configuration for all servers and other data center and cloud IT infrastructure; provides operational control over the server and storage infrastructure environment and operations. 3. Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates information technology systems operations and their effectiveness; provides support for the same, and advises for changes and improvements. 4. Manages medium size IT projects as assigned by manager or director. 5. Leads all efforts surrounding operating system patching and operating system upgrades; advises leaders and analysts of upcoming end-of-support deadlines. 6. Reviews, analyzes and develops plans for emergent out-of-band security fixes and leads the efforts to enable those patches. 7. Updates all IT tools and third-party applications at supported patch and version levels; keeps assigned set of data center tools tuned and healthy: virtualization, email, storage, firewall, backups, etc. 8. Serves as a key member of the incident response team, executing rapid analysis and mitigation strategies to address IT security events and operational disruptions; collaborates to contain threats, restore services, and safeguard organizational assets; recommends solutions. 9. Analyzes, validates and enables automation suggestions of System Admin Is; provides guidance for improvements in IT processes as possible to reduce delivery time of IT services (pc refresh, server provisioning, VM builds, server de-provisioning, etc.). 10. Analyzes and approves comprehensive test plans to validate scripts, pushes and other changes for System Administrator Is. 11. Supports the IT System Analysts during and post implementation of all IT systems; analyzes vendor requirements for the same and ensures that Eisenhower processes and requirements are followed; advises IT leaders of technical conflicts with vendor requirements. 12. Quickly evaluates and resolves complex technical issues while following industry standards and best practices. 13. Formulates aging reports for all operating systems, infrastructure hardware and other elements and systems; collaborates with IT leaders to create a holistic technical debt dashboard and reduction plan. 14. Develops system and data center architecture diagrams of all new system implementations including upgrades; approves diagrams from System Admin Is. 15. Communicates with IS staff members, vendors and users; collaborates with these groups to resolve issues, define and execute solutions. 16. Collaborates with IT leaders, suggesting improvements to the System Administrator and Apprenticeship on-boarding programs; works with apprentices. 17. Trains new System Administrators and models professional behavior. 18. Advises leadership of any issues that could relate to poor customer satisfaction, breaches in security and/or operational risks. 19. Participates in an on-call rotation. 20.
