Job Title: Senior IT Project Manager Employment Type: Full-Time with Benefits Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States. Work Mode: Primarily off-site with periodic on-site support at NJDEP facilities in Trenton, NJ, as requested. Security & Compliance: Subject to background checks and eligibility for access to State systems and facilities. Position Overview: The Senior IT Project Manager serves as the Contractor’s primary point of contact for all management-related aspects under the NJDEP maintenance and support agreement. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing IT projects, ensuring that deliverables align with agency standards and timelines, and coordinating cross-functional teams across technical and business functions. Responsibilities: • Provide overall project management for IT initiatives under the agreement • Support requirements definition and system design processes as needed • Oversee software development and enhancement activities • Provide on-call technical support to NJDEP staff Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM EST • Monitor NJDEP’s bug-tracking system daily to ensure verified issues are addressed on a priority basis • Manage project schedules, budgets, and team resources to meet deliverables • Report project status, risks, and mitigation plans to NJDEP stakeholders • Coordinate cross-functional technical and business teams • Support enterprise application maintenance, upgrades, and modernization initiatives Experience Required (Mandatory – NJDEP Minimum Qualifications): • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) • Certified SCRUM Master (Agile methodology) • 5+ years of experience managing/executing/completing major IT projects using Agile methodologies • 4+ years of experience managing environmental projects in the public sector (Federal, State, or Local) • 5+ years of experience implementing enterprise environmental solutions in public-sector environments • 3+ years of experience using Atlassian JIRA for project management Preferred Skills & Experience: • Prior experience with NJDEP systems: NJEMS, RSP, OPRATS, DataMiner, RADIUS, COMPASS, Letterbuilder, PDF Processor, Spreadsheet Processor • Strong stakeholder communication, reporting, and team coordination skills • Experience managing cross-functional technical and business teams • Knowledge of enterprise application maintenance, upgrades, cloud migration, and platform modernization initiatives Educational Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field Job Type: Full-time Pay: $130,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year Benefits: • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Application Question(s): • How many years of experience do you have managing, executing, or completing major IT projects using Agile development methodologies? • How many years of experience do you have managing environmental IT projects in the public sector (Federal, State, or Local)?
