Paraprofessional – Middle School About Chandler Park Academy: Chandler Park Academy (CPA) is a leading Pre-K–12 charter school district located in Harper Woods, Michigan. Position Overview: We are seeking enthusiastic Paraprofessionals to provide classroom support, helping students achieve academic and social growth in Reading and/or Mathematics. This role assists teachers, supports instructional activities, manages classroom dynamics, and ensures students have a positive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: • Support classroom instruction by assisting small groups and individual students. • Maintain a positive, organized, and inclusive classroom atmosphere. • Monitor and guide student behavior positively and effectively. • Prepare classroom materials and assist with lesson setups. • Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, recess, lunch, and transitions. • Collaborate effectively with teachers and staff to support student needs. • Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Must meet federal paraprofessional standards (60+ college credits, Associate degree, or paraprofessional assessment). • Prior experience with middle school-age children preferred. • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. • Basic proficiency with educational technology. • Special education training or certifications are beneficial (not required). • Must pass criminal background checks and required clearances.
