Full Description

Assist Director of Facilities & Maintenance in training and overseeing year-round daily operations of historic and non-historic buildings and structures. Plays an active role in accomplishing these tasks as well as supporting the Director in other projects. Responsibilities · Inspects premises for evidence of deterioration and/or supplies this information to Maintenance Director. · Work with Facilities department to handle repairs with Plumbing, Electrical, or Boiler operation or get help from contractors when needed. · Establishes preventive maintenance goals and informs Director for use in planning and budgeting. · Keeps buildings in compliance with fire regulations, well health regulations and inspections. · Responsible for written inspection sheets on each building twice a year per cyclical maintenance program. · Submits requisitions for repair of cleaning equipment, machinery, tools, or vehicles to Director for repairs. · Prepares requisition for purchase of cleaning supplies and responsible for ordering them. · Responsible for employee time sheets, payroll procedures and turning in vacation or time off request to Director. · Training and development for the department 1) equipment and tools, drills saws buffing machines, carpet cleaning machines pumps generators vacuums etc. 2) operation of audio-visual equipment. 3) Proper cleaning method of kitchen equipment, shop, and work areas. · Responsible for completion of Maintenance work request forms. · Will attend weekly events meeting to inform staff of set up needs as well as Director for staff work hours change or over time requests. · Play’s an active role in seasonal planning with the Director regarding porches, tent, pool, screens, outside furniture, and seasonal help. · Must be adept in performing all job task functions assigned to facilities and maintenance staff positions. · Will continue to attend classes/seminars to further educate for the purpose of this position. · Perform other duties as required. · Other duties as assigned. Skills & Requirements · A minimum of an associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, building control technology, HVAC, or similar field. · A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in building control systems inspection, testing, repair, and maintenance, preferably in a fast-paced, customer- focused environment is required. · EPA 608 Universal Refrigeration certification desired. · Successful completion of specialized training courses provided by control manufacturers. · Proven track record of facility management including proficient facilities maintenance and preventative maintenance inspection and troubleshooting skills. • Requires proficient knowledge of common maintenance trades such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and machine/equipment repair. • Requires general/basic knowledge of safety requirements for common maintenance procedures. Creative, strategic thinker with proven organizational and project management experience. · Requires the ability to multitask and follow and execute instructions with efficiency and proficiency in completion of a variety of assigned projects and tasks. · A demonstrated record of creativity, flexibility, and adaptability. · Must have the ability to identify facility/maintenance issues, including the ability to provide validation and sign-off of work performed by contractors (i.e., hands-on validation of functional/working completeness). · Excellent communication skills (i.e., speaking, writing, reading, reporting, etc.) are required. · Must be professional and work well with others at all levels, including vendors and contractors. · Initiative and ability to work independently, and embrace guidance offered by leadership. · Strong computer skills and interest in emerging technologies. · Ability to maintain confidentiality in all professional matters. · High level organization skills and attention to detail. · Ability to sit, stoop, stand for extended periods of time; lift heavy containers (up to 50 lbs.), and handle fragile items. Skills & Requirements (cont.) · Visual acuity and ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time. · Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary. · Must be able to travel to various locations including off-site facilities.
