About edgetrace edgetrace is revolutionizing how law enforcement agencies extract intelligence from their existing surveillance infrastructure. We enable natural language search across thousands of city cameras and mobile units - helping agencies go from vague witness descriptions to precise suspect identification in under 30 seconds. Our platform transforms queries like "blue sedan with broken taillight heading north" into actionable intelligence across entire camera networks. With automatic license plate recognition, cross-camera tracking, and real-time alerts, we're turning passive surveillance into active crime-fighting tools. Led by engineers from Cruise and xAI, we're building AI that works in the chaos of real-world public safety operations. The Opportunity Join us as our first GTM intern and help build the commercial foundation for a mission-critical technology company. You'll work directly with our founding team to shape how we communicate, sell, and deliver value to law enforcement agencies nationwide. This is a cross-functional role where you'll get exposure to the entire go-to-market motion - from content creation to sales strategy to customer success. Perfect for ambitious students who want to understand what it takes to bring complex technology to government customers, not just execute tasks in a single department. What You'll Do Marketing & Communications Transform real agency wins into compelling case studies (30-second suspect ID, multi-jurisdictional vehicle recovery) Create content that explains AI capabilities in law enforcement language Design visual demonstrations showing our impact on crime clearance rates Build our presence at law enforcement conferences (IACP, NSA, state associations) Sales Development Develop tailored presentations for different stakeholders (patrol officers → city councils) Research agency pain points through interviews and ride-alongs Map decision-making processes and budget cycles across target agencies Track federal grants and funding opportunities that agencies can leverage Product & Customer Success Gather field feedback to influence product roadmap Create training materials that get officers using the platform effectively Document use cases from BOLO alerts to court-ready evidence packages Build relationships with champion users within agencies Market Intelligence Analyze competitor movements and technology adoption patterns Research successful B2G technology launches and extract playbooks Monitor public safety technology trends and emerging agency needs Track procurement processes across different jurisdictions What We're Looking For Background: Current undergraduate or graduate student in any field - we care more about your curiosity and drive than your major. Whether you study Computer Science, Political Science, Business, Criminal Justice, Design, or Liberal Arts, if you can think strategically and execute tactically, we want to hear from you. Core Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication Ability to quickly understand technical concepts and translate them for non-technical audiences Comfort with ambiguity and ability to define your own priorities Natural curiosity about how organizations make decisions Genuine interest in technology, public safety, or government innovation Nice to Have: Experience with design tools (Figma, Canva) or data analysis Exposure to government, law enforcement, or public sector Previous startup or small team experience Portfolio showing any type of creative or analytical work What You'll Learn How to navigate complex B2G sales cycles from initial contact to implementation The art of messaging mission-critical technology to risk-averse buyers Public sector procurement, budgeting, and stakeholder management Full-stack go-to-market strategy at a YC-backed startup Direct mentorship from founders who've built autonomous vehicles and AI systems Why This Role Is Special You won't be fetching coffee or just scheduling social media posts. You'll be in the room for strategic decisions, join customer calls, attend law enforcement conferences, and directly impact how we grow. Your work will help officers solve crimes faster and make communities safer. If you want to understand how startups really work - not just one function but the entire commercial engine - this is your opportunity.
