The Planning Project Manager is responsible for the strategy, planning, and execution of production schedules across multiple manufacturing plants. This role ensures production efficiency, timely delivery, and effective resource utilization. The ideal candidate must have food manufacturing experience (no compromise) and be highly analytical, organized, and experienced in coordinating cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing or supply chain environment. Key Responsibilities: • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure all supply chain commitments are met. • Develop and maintain material strategies for all phases of business planning, advising Sales, Procurement, and Logistics teams on capacity, timeframes, and order fulfillment. • Ensure that proposed programs have complete and accurate schedules, budgets, and make/buy plans before execution. • Lead supply chain program execution, including resource planning, forecasting, schedule performance, risk/opportunity management, and supplier performance. • Develop and execute production plans and schedules to optimize efficiency, minimize lead times, and meet delivery requirements. • Maintain capacity models for current and strategic planning. • Lead project teams to execute projects according to established plans, adjusting to meet deadlines. • Coordinate with international manufacturing plants and partners on sourcing of products. • Plan and manage timely sourcing of raw materials according to purchase orders and sales plans. • Collaborate with Operations for proper production planning, staffing, storage, and transportation needs. • Monitor project risks and implement contingency plans as needed. • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations. Required Experience & Skills: • Minimum 5 years of experience in food manufacturing supply chain, program management, or production planning (mandatory). • Experience with integrated planning and production management systems. • Strong understanding of procurement, manufacturing, and subcontract execution workflows. • Knowledge of production line setup, workflows, and shift scheduling. • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). • Ability to work independently with limited supervision. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Proven experience managing complex projects from inception to completion. • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time (if required for plant visits in VA or nearby). Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field. • Master’s degree preferred.
