ECS is seeking a Development Operations Engineer (MID) to work in our Newington, VA office. ECS is proud to support a new 5-year contract with the FBI’s Operational Technology Division (OTD) Research & Development Support Program. This program advances critical research, development, and IT infrastructure efforts that empower the FBI’s mission to address complex technical and investigative challenges in an increasingly connected world. Our work spans IT Support, Cybersecurity, IT Services, and Administrative Compliance—delivering solutions that enhance operational effectiveness and security across mission systems. As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll help design, build, and maintain automation solutions that accelerate software delivery, improve infrastructure reliability, and drive efficiency across development and operations. You will work collaboratively within Agile teams, applying modern DevOps tools and practices to support a mission-focused, high-performance environment. RESPONSIBILITIES * Infrastructure Automation: Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to automate provisioning and configuration of cloud and on-premises systems. * Continuous Integration & Delivery: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI to support automated build, test, and deployment workflows. * Containerization: Deploy and manage containerized environments using Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Amazon ECS. * Monitoring & Alerting: Configure monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog) to track performance and support proactive issue resolution. * Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts and tools to streamline DevOps processes and reduce manual effort. * Cloud Platforms: Support initiatives leveraging AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, assisting in the deployment of cloud-native solutions. * Agile Collaboration: Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, ensuring DevOps tasks align with program goals and delivery timelines. * Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain documentation for infrastructure, pipelines, and best practices; contribute to team knowledge through collaboration and mentoring. * Optimization: Identify and implement improvements in performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency across mission systems. Qualifications * Must have an active Top Secret with eligibility for SCI w/CI Poly. * 5+ years of experience in DevOps, system administration, or software engineering roles with exposure to CI/CD, automation, and cloud technologies. * 2+ years working in Agile development environments. * Proficiency in scripting languages such as Go, Bash, or JavaScript. * Experience with UI/UX development technologies (React, Angular, or Vue). * Location: Newington, VA — Hybrid work environment with the potential to work two days onsite and three days remote each week, based on mission needs.
