Job Description ECS is seeking an ARPA-H SETA - Robotics Engineer/Interdisciplinary Scientist (Autonomous Robotic Assistive Devices) to work remotely. Specific Duties • Contribute to a multidisciplinary team building the future of affordable, safe autonomous robotic assistive devices for the elderly and disabled. • Provide subject matter expertise across all aspects of integrated robotics systems development and factors affecting operational deployment in direct human contact applications. • Evaluate technical proposals for scientific merit and innovation. Provide feedback, organize reviewer comments, draft recommendations and project summaries, and presentation materials. • Perform market analyses, technical due diligence, and literature reviews and generate briefing documents summarizing technical topics related to application of autonomous mobile robots and exoskeletons to health care applications for the elderly and disabled. • Develop technical and administrative programmatic documentation on short timelines to communicate technical approach, progress, cost, schedule and risk for advanced robotics development efforts. Experience/Expertise • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, and MATLAB. • Expertise in circuit design, microcontrollers, and embedded systems for robotic systems. • Experience with sensor/actuator integration and data fusion for simultaneous localization, mapping, and planning. • Familiarity with robotic operating systems for simulation, visualization, and communication between different components. • Understanding of AI and ML techniques for developing intelligent behaviors and robotic decision-making processes. • Experience with User-Centered Design for customer-needs-driven engineering development. • Team-oriented with exceptional communication, writing, and organizational skills. • Prior experience supporting commercial innovation centers, university applied robotics centers, ARPA-like programs (e.g., DARPA, IARPA, APRA-E), or U.S. DoD advanced development programs is desired, but not required. Salary Range: $100,000 - $180,000 Required Skills General Description of Benefits • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Biomedical Engineering, and other related disciplines with 2+ years’ experience • Masters in relevant disciplines with 5+ years experience.
