Early Explorers Academy (EEA) is an early learning center located in Waterford, MI offering care for infants through GSRP. We are seeking knowledgeable and experienced candidates in the field of early childhood education to embark on this journey with us. Currently, we are seeking candidates to fill positions in the following roles: • Assistant Teacher/Floater EEA's mission is to inspire curious minds as we use the model of "Inquire. Explore. Understand " to foster a love of learning. We utilize a balanced learning approach that incorporates both direct instruction and play-based learning with thematic units. Teacher retention is an important goal of the EEA and we are seeking teachers who are looking for their new home and will work to ensure teacher satisfaction. Please review the job descriptions for each position below. • Benefits: • Health, Dental, Vision Insurance • 401k Matching • Discounted child care rates • Flexible scheduling • Tuition Reimbursement (for CDA or other eligible pathways) • Assistant Teacher Responsibilities: • Support Lead Teacher and implement engaging, age appropriate lesson plans that successfully engage children and foster physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development • Maintain a safe and healthy environment • Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials • Meet the diapering and feeding needs of the child • Sanitize play toys and materials on a daily basis • Must be able to alternate between standing and seating positions for extended periods of time • Must be able to move/life up to 40 pounds • Promptly respond to the child's various personal needs, temperament styles, abilities, and cultures. • Maintain all appropriate records such as attendance, time sheets, feeding/diapering forms, and incident/accident report forms • Maintain student portfolios and anecdotal records • Use a wide range of teaching methods to enhance the child's abilities • Communicating consistently and professionally with parents and fellow staff • Collaborate with other colleagues • Adhere with teaching standards and safety regulations as established by the center • Participate in professional development at the school site • Requirements: • Proven experience as a child care / daycare teacher • Excellent knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods • Methodical and creative • Patience, flexibility, and love for children • Strong written and verbal communication and time management skills • Must have current certificate (or willing to obtain) in first aid, infant/child CPR, blood borne pathogens, infant safe sleep, & shaken baby Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Employee discount • Flexible schedule • Health insurance • Professional development assistance • Tuition reimbursement Ability to Commute: • Waterford, MI 48328 (Required) Work Location: In person
