Job Title: Director of Operations / Senior Project Management Leader Company: Earll Construction Company, Inc. Location: Grafton, Illinois The Director of Operations is a senior leader responsible for driving operational strategy, project execution, and overall business performance. This role bridges executive leadership and field operations while directly performing Project Management duties as needed, particularly during staffing gaps or periods of growth. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership • Define and execute operational strategies aligned with company growth and financial goals • Standardizing processes and drive continuous improvement Operational & Project Management • Oversee and actively manage commercial construction projects as needed • Step into a Project Manager role during staffing transitions or increased workload • Monitor KPIs: cost, schedule, safety, and quality • Mitigate financial, contractual, and operational risks • Optimize resource allocation across all projects Team Leadership • Lead and develop Project Managers, Superintendents, and staff • Support hiring, training, and performance management • Foster strong coordination between field and office teams Client & Business Development • Maintain key client relationships and support business development efforts • Ensure consistent client satisfaction and project success Financial & Contract Oversight • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and profitability • Review contracts, subcontracts, and change orders • Ensure accurate billing and financial reporting Safety & Compliance • Uphold OSHA standards and company safety culture • Ensure quality control and regulatory compliance Technology & Innovation • Promote use of construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, Sage) etc. Ideal Candidate A strategic, hands-on leader who can operate at both executive and project levels—capable of leading the organization while stepping in to manage projects when needed. Strong construction expertise, financial acumen, and leadership presence required.
