Job Title: Software Engineering Intern (Temporary) Reports to: Software Engineering Manager Hours of Work: Part-time to Full-time, depending on business needs, Monday-Friday. Minimum 20 hours/week commitment required. Wage: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour, non-exempt Location: On-site in Canby, Oregon Position Summary: As a Software Engineering Intern, you will be part of a collaborative team of developers focused on creating the best avionics and aircraft systems for light aircraft. You will perform entry-level engineering tasks, support senior engineering staff, and gain experience and familiarization with Dynon Avionics products. If you are a motivated and driven individual looking for a hands-on learning experience in the field of software engineering, we encourage you to apply. This internship will provide you with valuable industry experience and the opportunity to work on exciting projects alongside our team of experienced engineers. Position Responsibilities: • Iteratively design & develop modern C++ with pragmatic application of industry best practices. • Understand a problem at a high level and drill into the depth and breadth of complexity beneath it. • Evaluate and make pragmatic trade-offs between cost, schedule, and functionality. You want to learn: • About how innovative usage of existing and evolving programming languages can provide effective solutions to the engineering problems you face in your daily software development. • About how recreational aviators see their world and rely on us to maximize their enjoyment and maintain their safety. Experience & Education: • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and concepts. • Proficient in CAD software, such as SolidWorks. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. • Ability to work effectively in a team environment. • Good oral and written communication skills. • Strong attention to detail. • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. You are working toward: • A 4-year or master’s degree in computer science or related major • Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the United States Temporary employees are not eligible for benefits but do accrue 2 hours of PTO on a bi-weekly basis. Former interns are given first consideration for full-time employment upon graduation for available engineering positions.
