Logistics Coordinator Job Description The Logistics Coordinator reports directly to the CEO and works closely with Project Management and Production departments. General responsibilities include planning and coordinating the routing schedules of each delivery for commercial and industrial light poles, brackets, and accessories. Responsibilities: • Assign each customer order to the proper time delivery window, geographical route and freight carrier • Incorporate customer delivery demands in terms of unloading and delivery time into the routing schedule, including load scheduling for multi-drop deliveries • Plan the delivery routes to be taken by each driver in an effort to most effectively and efficiently utilize the fleet and reduce expenses related to the cost of delivery • Research and maintain the most cost-effective procedures and systems that can be applied to all areas of the logistics function; this includes continuously negotiating transportation pricing • Prepare required documentation for flatbed freight shipments; such as, bills of ladings and packing lists • Create, maintain, and enter shipping information into E2; close jobs in company database • Drive, identify, and communicate corrective actions, deviations, lean processes, and payment of freight invoices • Serve as a liaison for answering all questions about shipments, rectify problems, and provide status updates to internal departments as needed • Manage day-to-day deviations that require critical thinking for quick resolutions • Effectively communicate with the Sales, Partner Service and Production departments regarding deliveries, special requests, and other issues • Make recommendations to the Logistics Manager for process improvement • Organize and manage the upload of documents and pictures for each processed order • Scan driver surveys and save to company database. • Develop working knowledge of daily freight and small package shipment process through departmental cross-training Requirements: • 1-5 years of related logistics experience • Excellent geographical knowledge and a strong background in logistics or transportation • Proven financial acumen • Demonstrate a high level of accuracy, quality, and attention to detail • Ability to adapt and prioritize changing assignments or multiple priorities and tasks • Capable of managing the pressures and stress associated with a deadline-oriented atmosphere and customer service or production issues • Must possess positive interpersonal skills, including the ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations • Have strong problem-solving and team work skills • Be able to identify and manage process improvement • Proficient in Microsoft applications with a willingness and ability to learn new software programs • Flexibility and desire to take on additional responsibility
