Experienced in managing large-scale projects with strong stakeholder management and program governance, but lacks industrial automation and engineering background.
What You’ll Do * Lead domestic and international automotive projects from project launch through installation, commissioning, customer acceptance, and closeout. * Manage project scope, budget, schedule, financial performance, risks, and key milestones to achieve contractual and profitability objectives. * Serve as the primary customer liaison, building strong relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout project execution. * Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, logistics, suppliers, contractors, installation, and commissioning. * Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and implement recovery plans when timing or deliverables are at risk. * Monitor procurement and supplier activities to ensure materials, equipment, and subcontracted services support project requirements and timing. * Lead internal and customer project meetings, communicate project status and priorities, and drive timely resolution of action items. * Identify technical, operational, commercial, and financial risks and opportunities and implement appropriate mitigation strategies. * Manage project changes, ensuring technical requirements, schedule impacts, costs, and customer expectations are clearly documented and addressed. * Oversee multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining alignment with customer specifications, contractual requirements, and Dürr project standards. What You’ll Bring We’re looking for an experienced project leader who combines strong business and customer management skills with an understanding of complex industrial equipment and automation. Ideal qualifications include: * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Project Management, or a related discipline preferred. * 5–7 years of project management experience within automotive manufacturing, industrial automation, material handling, or a related environment. * Experience with General Assembly, final assembly, conveyance, End-of-Line systems, Fluid Fill systems, or comparable automotive manufacturing equipment. * Direct Fluid Fill or End-of-Line experience is a plus but not required; strong General Assembly or conveyance experience will be considered. * Understanding of mechanical, electrical, controls, and software engineering concepts associated with automated manufacturing equipment. * Experience managing industrial equipment projects involving engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation, startup, and commissioning. * Familiarity with machinery design, pneumatics, hydraulics, tooling, automation, and related manufacturing processes. * Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, contracts, and customer requirements. * Strong understanding of project financials, including budgets, forecasting, cost management, and profitability. * Strong customer-facing communication, leadership, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project; experience with ERP/MRP systems and SAP is preferred. * Willingness to travel approximately 20–30%, including internationally.
