Learn more at dnb.com/careers. The Director, Systems Engineering (IP2DUNS), is a senior technical leader with deep internet-infrastructure and IP-intelligence expertise to own and evolve the enterprise-grade IP-to-DUNS mapping capability that underpins core customer deliverables and multiple downstream product lines. This role provides architectural direction, long-horizon systems design, and technical oversight across internet topology, large-scale data processing, operational security, and infrastructure management. It also includes leadership responsibility for shaping the roadmap, defining standards, and guiding junior contributors — especially data analysts — who support mapping, validation, and quality operations. The role further carries strategic accountability for evaluating, optimizing, and rationalizing third-party IP-to-business data sources from both a technical and commercial perspective. \n Key Responsibilities: Serve as the technical owner and architect for the full lifecycle of the IP-to-DUNS mapping asset — designing and overseeing ingestion, normalization, validation, enrichment, quality controls, and delivery packaging. Generate high-quality, authoritative IP-to-business outputs by synthesizing diverse internet-layer signals (BGP/ASN changes, DNS patterns, dynamic blocks, hosting footprints, OSINT data, and routing shifts) into reliable mappings that attach each IP to the correct DUNS Number. This includes designing logic that resolves conflicting signals, maintains stability despite internet churn, and meets accuracy thresholds required for enterprise decisioning. Define and communicate the data-quality standards necessary for using internet-layer signals as a source of entity resolution, ensuring that downstream products, risk models, fraud detection systems, and customer deliverables receive stable DUNS-aligned outputs that withstand internet volatility and vendor variability. Architect and scale automated pipelines that deliver highly accurate, continuously refreshed IP attribution and entity resolution at internet scale. Lead the comparative assessment of third-party IP-intelligence datasets, evaluating coverage, accuracy, latency, reliability, and commercial value, and making recommendations that shape vendor strategy and cost structure. Design testing frameworks, benchmarking methodologies, and quality gates that quantify vendor ROI and ensure mapping integrity. Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical direction to junior engineers and analysts; establish best practices, workflows, quality standards, and prioritization frameworks. Architect, deploy, and tune internet-facing infrastructure across OVH, Vultr, and similar bare-metal/VPS environments, ensuring high reliability and scalability. Implement systems that proactively track global IP block changes, routing shifts (BGP/ASN), OSINT signals, and infrastructure volatility, enabling a continuously current mapping asset. Write and review high-quality data-processing and automation code (Python, Go, Rust, Bash), setting coding standards for the broader team. Establish and enforce robust operational-security controls across all infrastructure and pipelines: hardened configurations, access boundaries, encryption, segmentation, and auditability. Define and implement observability across infrastructure and mapping workflows, including metrics, logs, quality indicators, anomaly detection, and alerting. Partner with product, data science, engineering, and customer teams to translate accuracy, coverage, and refresh requirements into roadmap and system designs. Troubleshoot and resolve complex, cross-layer issues spanning network behavior, infrastructure performance, and data transformations. Provide subject matter leadership on broader internet-domain programs (e.g., URL discovery, IP enrichment logic, linkage and graph improvements). Additional duties as assigned. Essential Skills and/or Certifications: 12-15+ years of senior-level experience in internet infrastructure, IP intelligence, network systems engineering, or adjacent disciplines. Deep expertise with ASNs, BGP, DNS, routing policies, peering, IP geolocation, and global internet topology, with the ability to apply this knowledge at system-architecture scale. Demonstrated experience deploying, optimizing, and securing servers on OVH, Vultr, or comparable hosts. Strong programming and systems-automation competence (Python, Go, Rust, Bash), with a track record of building resilient data pipelines. Advanced knowledge of Linux internals, performance tuning, and secure system configuration. Experience designing and enforcing operational security for internet-facing environments. Familiarity with USG IP-based operational patterns or attribution workflows. Proven ability to evaluate, benchmark, and recommend third-party data feeds using both technical and commercial criteria. Experience mentoring and coordinating junior engineers/analysts, and managing their contributions to complex technical deliverables. Strong diagnostic capability across network, system, and data-processing stacks. Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or automated provisioning frameworks preferred. Background with IP attribution vendors, OSINT sources, or commercial IP-intelligence ecosystems preferred. Experience delivering high-accuracy datasets directly to enterprise customers or powering downstream product pipelines preferred. Show an ownership mindset in everything you do; be a problem solver, be curious and be inspired to take action, be proactive, seek ways to collaborate and connect with people and teams in support of driving success. Continuous growth mindset, keep learning through social experiences and relationships with stakeholders, experts, colleagues and mentors as well as widen and broaden your competencies through structural courses and programs. Where applicable, fluency in English and languages relevant to the working market. \n $167,000 - $280,000 a year \n Benefits We Offer · Generous paid time off in your first year, increasing with tenure. · Up to 16 weeks 100% paid parental leave after one year of employment. · Paid sick time to care for yourself or family members. · Education assistance and extensive training resources. · Do Good Program: Paid volunteer days & donation matching. · Competitive 401k with company matching. · Health & wellness benefits, including discounted Wellhub membership rates. · Medical, dental & vision insurance for you, spouse/partner & dependents.
