Position Summary The Supply Chain Operations Transformation organization within Supply Chain Operations was created to lead the strategic redesign of the SC Ops organization from the ground up. This role will be a key contributor to the team, aiming to transform Supply Chain to become a competitive advantage for the company and be responsive to our customers’ and business partners’ changing needs leveraging technology and data to support Duke Energy’s net zero strategy. This requires cross-functional engagement, planning, alignment, communication, and strategy development as well as execution. This team is critical in ensuring that the organization becomes best-in-class across all functional areas including analytics, warehouse operations, inventory management, trucking and logistics and asset recovery. Additionally, the team must ensure a strong focus on ESG, while optimizing our risk and safety profiles. This individual is a key player in bringing SC Ops to a new frontier, inspiring and engaging our employees from individual contributors to managing directors in the complete redesign of this 500+ employee organization. This transformation will enable Supply Chain to become a competitive edge for Duke Energy, all while aligning with our Net Zero Strategy. This role has several key components to create transformational change and meet strategic objectives: Increased productivity. Increase automation & technology adoption to reduce manual repetitive tasks and to makes smarter decisions faster. Simplified Business Model. Streamline and consolidate SC processes across BUs and jurisdictions to be flexible to the ever-changing environment. Determine the right mix of insource vs outsource resources to build upon our existing strengths and core competencies as well as organization structure. Optimized Risk & Sustainability Profile. Identify high risk activities and determine a mitigation or risk transfer strategy to reduce safety incidences and environmental events while promoting our net zero strategy. Improved Customer/Business Partner user experience. Transparent, on demand data/information across supply chain processes, to increase the ease of doing business with Supply Chain. Position Supply Chain Operations to manage 30%-40% growth in material throughput over the next 5 years, while controlling operational costs, maintaining the highest level of safety and meetings customer service level targets. Responsibilities Drive accountability on timelines, requirements, milestones and deliverables for key SC ops projects. This requires constant check ins with stakeholders and employees to ensure activities are progressing as expected. Develop relationships and partner with IT and business stakeholders to execute on key technology products needed for the future business model for SC Ops. With direction from senior or leads, ensure that the vision is coming to fruition and hold peers accountable to the changes needed. Join with peers to partner across the organization to drive continuous improvement model to ensure on-going transformation and continued elevation of the core SC Ops organization. Work on developing relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally facing. Build a strong understanding from leaders cross-functionally on key opportunities for transformation of business practice. Focus on creating change by leveraging employee engagement. Required/Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, Finance, Economics, Process Design, or Other Related Degree 3 years related work experience In lieu of Bachelor's degree AND 3 years related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 7 years related work experience Additional Preferred Qualifications Prior Experience supporting Field warehouse operations Prior Experience with Portfolio Management, Leadership, Oversight, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, and Problem Solving Self-driven, highly motivated individual who is adaptable to constantly changing and challenging situations Delivering Results - Consistently delivers superior results while improving products, services, and processes Creating Strategy - Establishing short and long-term strategies based on a long-range vision to achieve business results Communicating with Impact - Interacting with employees effectively, expressing self clearly, concisely and in a compelling manner to energize individuals and groups and drive their emotional engagement. Working Conditions Hybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period.
