Manage pharmacy purchase orders, inventory levels, vendor communications, and compliance with controlled substance regulations.
High school diploma, Pharmacy Technician certification or eligibility, and 1-2 years of pharmacy purchasing or inventory experience.

Process and submit daily purchase orders with wholesalers, manufacturers, and distributors for prescriptions and OTC products. 2. Verify pricing, apply contracted terms, and reconcile invoices with purchase orders. 3. Monitor drug utilization and adjust stock levels to meet patient demand while minimizing waste and overstock. 4. Track and resolve issues related to backorders, product shortages, and recalls. 5. Communicate to clinical support and pharmacy Ops updates on shortages and recalls. 6. Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, returns, credits, and vendor communications. 7. Assist with controlled substance ordering, reconciliation, and reporting in compliance with DEA and state requirements. 8. Communicate regularly with vendors and internal staff regarding product availability, delivery timelines, and substitutions. 9. Support cost-containment initiatives and identify opportunities for purchasing efficiency. 10. Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure inventory supports fulfillment timelines for both retail and mail-order dispensing. 11. Work with internal supply chain team, external vendors, and potentially regulatory agencies (like the FDA) on DSCSA-related issues and documentation. Marginal or Additional Functions 1. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Education, Licensure or Certification: • High school diploma or equivalent required • Current Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) or eligibility required Work Experience or Related Experience • 1-2 years of experience in retail, mail-order, or central fill pharmacy purchasing or inventory management preferred • Knowledge of wholesaler ordering platforms and pharmacy management systems a plus Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, NDOs, and packaging formats • Proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities • Excellent communication skills for vendor and internal team interactions • Ability to work independently while meeting strict deadlines • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Travel Requirements and Conditions • Travel is not required.
