The Crown Is Yours Join the Data Enablement & Governance Team to develop the systems that power trusted, compliant, and discoverable data across DraftKings. You’ll build the foundational infrastructure that fuels our enterprise data catalog, enforces data privacy standards, and supports AI-driven innovation. In this role, you’ll shape how metadata, access, and governance controls are embedded into every layer of our data ecosystem, ensuring we scale responsibly while unlocking business value. What you’ll do as a Senior Data Engineer Design and deliver the metadata systems and integrations that drive our data catalog, business glossary, and semantic layer. Build APIs, tools, and automation to enforce privacy, compliance, and masking standards, protecting PII and supporting frameworks like CCPA. Collaborate across Engineering, Compliance, IT, and Data Platform teams to embed governance and access controls into platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks. Define data quality rules, implement monitoring strategies, and establish escalation workflows that promote data reliability. Provide technical leadership on lineage, metadata, and data usage best practices. Evaluate and implement third-party tools and custom solutions that scale data governance across the organization. Partner with stakeholders to ensure governance supports both compliance and innovation, including responsible AI enablement. What you’ll bring A strong sense of accountability for customer data privacy and a passion for responsible data use. Hands-on experience with data governance, including catalogs, glossaries, metadata frameworks, or privacy tooling. Proficiency in Python and SQL, with a solid understanding of relational schema design and access control practices. Familiarity with AWS environments and experience supporting scalable data infrastructure. A strategic mindset focused on enabling business value while enforcing data trust and compliance. Ability to translate governance requirements into technical architecture and scalable tools. Curiosity to explore how governance enables AI and analytics across teams. The US base salary range for this full-time position is 116,800.00 USD - 146,000.00 USD, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. Our ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
