Role and Responsibilities • Handle responsibilities as both a cashier and stock associate, while also taking on leadership tasks when store or assistant managers are unavailable. • Unload deliveries and follow company processes to open, sort, and process incoming cartons and totes. • Replenish merchandise, rotate stock, and set up product displays that align with store promotions and sales strategies. • Assist in the execution of planograms and implementation of seasonal and marketing programs. • Return recovered or misplaced items to their proper locations and maintain accurate stock presentation. • Provide courteous and knowledgeable customer service, helping shoppers find items and answering their questions. • Contribute to store upkeep by removing trash, cleaning restrooms, mopping floors, and organizing backroom areas. • Operate cash registers and scanners to process transactions, accept payments, and give correct change. • Ensure the front-end area is clean and stocked with supplies, maintaining merchandising standards. • Assist with the appearance of the store by organizing the entry area and setting up outdoor promotional displays. • Maintain a clean, safe, and customer-friendly shopping environment at all times. • Open or close the store under direction from the area manager as needed. • Perform key tasks such as authorizing returns, executing overrides, counting drawers, and making deposits when management is not present. • Monitor cash levels at registers, conduct drawer pulls, and uphold security protocols and cashier accountability. • Use surveillance systems when necessary to observe store activity and support cashier operations by providing change. • Accurately complete all required forms and reports in a timely manner. Required Skills and Experience • Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including percentage calculations. • Understanding of cash handling procedures and familiarity with register operations. • Experience with IBM point-of-sale systems. • Knowledge of store safety standards, facility operations, and financial controls. • Effective verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to read and implement planograms and merchandising instructions. • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with at least six months of experience in a supervisory or related role. Preferred Qualifications • Prior experience in retail or customer-facing roles. • Demonstrated leadership ability and capability to support team members in a fast-paced retail environment.
