Role and Responsibilities • Manage daily operations of the non-perishable food and general merchandise departments under the guidance of the Store Manager. • Support inventory accuracy, merchandising execution, and consistent customer service excellence. • Receive deliveries, stock merchandise efficiently, rotate inventory, and ensure displays are clean and visually appealing. • Return misplaced or recovered merchandise to appropriate shelves while ensuring inventory systems are kept up to date. • Perform opening and closing procedures at least once per week, including processing returns, overrides, and completing bank deposits. • Assist with staff scheduling, payroll processing, and product ordering to achieve stock-level targets. • Execute merchandising strategies including planogram implementation, promotional set-ups, and seasonal floor layouts. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment through routine checks and safety compliance. • Serve as acting supervisor in the Store Manager’s absence, ensuring smooth and efficient store operations. • Ensure all employees follow established company policies and operational procedures. • Use POS systems to accurately complete transactions, manage payments, and bag purchases. • Participate in the 7-Day Workflow Plan by supporting stocking routines and Find-Fill-Fix tasks. Required Skills and Experience • High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred. • Three or more years of retail experience is preferred. • One to two years in a leadership role within a retail or grocery setting, or equivalent experience as a DG key carrier. • Ability to read and respond to operational reports and implement necessary changes. • Knowledge of store security, cash handling, and key control practices. • Understanding of food safety protocols and eligibility for required certifications. • Proficiency in inventory practices, ordering, and merchandising execution. • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. • Basic math skills and familiarity with handling cash register operations. • Comfortable using retail systems and internal communication platforms. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in hiring, onboarding, employee coaching, and performance management. • Familiarity with implementing planograms and managing seasonal merchandising transitions. • Understanding of retail sanitation standards and safety best practices.
