Receive, inspect, and record shipments, operate material handling equipment, maintain accurate records, and assist with deliveries and inventory control.
One year factory-related shipping and receiving experience, forklift training, valid driver's license with good record, ability to read/write and follow instructions.
Job Summary The Receiving clerk position receives, inspects and records shipments with raw material and products by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards. Responsibilities and Duties • Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt. • Unload packages from incoming trucks. • Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged. • Verify packages according to purchase order and invoices. • Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department lead. • Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place. • Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control. • Required to make pick-ups and deliveries to our suppliers/customers for parts and raw materials using a company truck. • Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas. • Operates crimp tools, including diagnosis, repair and processing. • Operates the stretch wrap banders. • Operates foam packing machine. • Familiarity with building pallets and crates (preferred) • Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods. • Supports the shipment of goods produced and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base. • Responsible for making arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the sales order. • Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times. • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. • May require to assist with driving services for company pickups and deliveries as needed. Education and Experience • One year of factory-related experience in shipping and receiving (preferred). • Ability to read and write, follow verbal instructions and use simple math. • A valid driver’s license and a good driving record. • Trained in forklift truck operation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
