Full Description

DCTO, Production Supervisor Job Profile and Description This position will be responsible for the day-to-day production operation at the Diversified Chemical Technologies manufacturing site. It includes the management of up to a 20-person production team consisting of production operators, team leaders, shipping and receiving personnel along with in-line QC technicians. Job Classification · Hourly, Fulltime, Non-union Position · Biweekly Pay Frequency-Competitive Salary (Metro Detroit region) · Reports to DCTO production manager Duties and Responsibilities • Ensure all site safety rules are strictly followed for zero safety incident operations. Work with the HSE and the team to continuously improve the safety of operations at the facility. Ensure timely completion of safety training. • Provide hands-on leadership for efficient and effective utilization of all resources. Cultivate work environment consistent with DCTO core values and principles. • Ensure all in process quality checks are being performed in accordance with established procedures. Ensure all quality related process controls are working as intended. • Ensure production priorities are being followed, and production status and posting is done at shift end. Account for proper allocation of man hours for each shift. • Learn to independently operate, troubleshoot and then to train others on safe and efficient use of all process equipment. • Lead daily plant floor team meetings to review safety and team KPIs and lead continual improvement efforts. Communicate production targets to production team. Measure and communicate status versus these targets. Take corrective actions if targets are not being met. • Work with key stake holders, maintenance, engineering, R & D to support implementation of best practices for making and filling batches of DCTO products. • Ensure 5S and housekeeping rules are followed. Work with operators and team leaders to continuously improve our 5S and housekeeping systems. Participate in the housekeeping audits. • Monitor and keep track of daily production operators and team leader performance. Coach and train subordinates to improve lagging performance and recognize strong performers. Ensure all Facility SOPs, Work Instructions, conduct, HSE, and attendance rules are being followed and issue disciplinary action where needed. • Develop strong working relationships with all stakeholders to address all plant issues in a timely manner. Take action to support any new management initiatives. • Maintain high on task time with attention to details. • Perform additional duties as required. Skills and Specifications • Four or more years of previous supervisory / leadership experience is required. Preference in a fast-paced manufacturing with data and target driven environment. • Hands-on mechanical, machine operating, troubleshooting, and setup experience required. Bottling or high-speed packaging experience a plus. Batch production or chemical background is preferred. • Good written and oral communication skills, the ability to work well with others and project a pleasant, professional image. Proficient with Microsoft office programs. • Demonstrated ability to lead safety initiatives and become a Change Agent. • This position reports to the Production Manager. • Time spent on the job will be 70-80% in the production facilities and 20-30% in the office.
