Manage and own nonprofit audit engagements from start to finish while building community relationships and growing firm presence.
Strong nonprofit audit experience including Uniform Guidance compliance and CPA qualification, with ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
Nonprofit audit manager (Boston based, remote) No billable hours, fully remote, 40 hours a week all year round with total flexibility… sound interesting? Tired of timesheets, billable hours and the endless grind that comes with public accounting? This is a chance to keep the parts you enjoy: the clients, the variety, and leave the rest behind. This fully remote, progressive CPA firm is built differently. Everyone here has more than 10 years of experience, and there is no busy season chaos. You will work around 40 hours a week. No required Saturdays. No tracking your time. Just interesting work with nonprofit clients and the flexibility to manage your own schedule. They mean it when they say balance is important to them. The managing partner leaves early every Thursday to watch his kids’ games. Others compress their hours into four days a week. What matters is the quality of the work, not how long you sit at your desk. What makes this role different: • Bonus starting at 10% • Retirement around 8% with no employee contribution required • $3600 annual stipend for your home office and cell phone • 5% health stipend • Option to work a four day week if you prefer • 100% audit work with nonprofits, start to finish ownership of your audits • Small experienced team that trusts you to get on with it • Real flexibility, not just words The firm is now looking to build a stronger presence in Boston, so this role is ideal for someone who not only enjoys nonprofit audit work but also likes getting out into the community, attending events like the Massachusetts Nonprofit Breakfast and growing relationships. If you have strong nonprofit audit experience including Uniform Guidance and are ready for a role where your expertise is trusted and your time is respected, this is your chance to have the best of both worlds. Meaningful clients, challenging work and a life outside of it. If you’d like to know more, hit apply and I’ll be in touch. Not ready with a resume yet? No problem, call me, connect on LinkedIn, or drop me a message via email or LinkedIn (Rebecca Sherman at Distinct North America) and we can chat first. And if you don’t tick every box, still apply. We partner with firms that value diverse and inclusive teams, and even if this role isn’t the one, we likely have others in public accounting that could be a great fit.
