CIMA enables business partners to anticipate and respond to consumer needs, optimize guest experiences, achieve business goals, and objectively measure decisions for continuous improvement. Overview The Director of Consumer Insight at Disneyland Resort is a strategic leader responsible for driving consumer-centric decision-making across the business. This role sits within the Consumer Insight, Measurement, and Analytics (CIMA) organization and partners with cross-functional teams—including Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Technology—to inform and shape business strategies through actionable insights. The Director leads a team dedicated to understanding consumer behaviors, attitudes, and experiences, connecting actionable insights to Disneyland Resort’s goals, strategies and opportunities. We are seeking an inspiring and collaborative leader to serve as Director, Consumer Insight. Reporting to the Vice President, CIMA, the director will lead a team responsible for developing, executing, synthesizing, and leveraging research, analytics, and other sources of insight to inform and inspire partners. In a rapidly changing consumer and market environment, the emphasis is on providing actionable insights – clear, objective, strategic, holistic, timely, and relevant. The successful candidate will have proven success in shaping and delivering on a consumer centric vision, developing a roadmap, and leading a team through research execution to business application. The director will be an inspiring and influential leader of people, projects, and partnerships. The director will be a big thinker, collaborator, and innovator who can effectively drive results in a matrix organization, and who can deliver clarity and direction from an often ambiguous and complex consumer space. This role is based in Anaheim, CA. Key Responsibilities • Insight Generation & Data Integration • Oversee the development and execution of tracking, foundational and ad hoc research studies, including market trackers, campaign evaluations, product development, and business performance diagnostics. • Areas of focus include: • Creative development and positioning • Audience growth and demand indicators • Purchase funnel exploration • Digital design experience and optimization • Pricing/promotions • Customer journey experience enhancements • In-park Guest experience enhancements • Long-term business planning • Lead the integration of consumer insight, digital, marketing, sales measurement, and analytics for the Disneyland resort. • Utilize innovative research methodologies—quantitative, qualitative, behavioral and attitudinal analytics—to identify demand drivers, audience growth opportunities, and guest experience optimizations. • Business Impact & Storytelling • Regularly communicate findings to senior leadership, transforming complex analytics into compelling stories that drive business decisions. • Guide cross-functional initiatives, integrating insights into commercial, marketing, finance, operations, and technology strategies. • Foster strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and cross functional teams to support research and analytics needs. • Team Leadership & Development • Grow, lead, and mentor direct and adjacent team members, building a high-performing, future-ready team. • Champion a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement. Qualifications • 10+ years of experience in consumer insights, analytics, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role • Proven expertise in quantitative and qualitative research, data integration, and advanced analytics • Strong ability to lead multiple time sensitive projects concurrently with urgency • Demonstrated creative and analytical thinking – from how to frame a challenge to delivering a solution • Proven ability to thrive in a fast paced, changing environment while effectively managing multiple projects and relationships with conflicting timelines and priorities • Strong communication and presentation skills • Experience in the entertainment, hospitality, or theme park industry is highly desirable • Proficiency with data analytics software, AI technology, and measurement platforms • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams • Strategic thinker with a passion for consumer-centric innovation • Collaborative leader who thrives in dynamic, cross-functional environments • Skilled storyteller who can translate data into actionable business insights • Adaptable and forward-thinking, with a commitment to continuous learning and experimentation Education • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, statistics, economics, or a related field (advanced degree preferred) The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $185,500.00 to $248,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidates geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
