Technical Support Engineer Job Summary of Technical Support Engineer: This position is responsible for providing advanced technical support for DISH Business’s commercial video and networking products. The role involves troubleshooting issues, assisting with product development, and creating support documentation. The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of video and networking technologies with a strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. Job Duties and Responsibilities of Technical Support Engineer: • Provide Tier 3 and Tier 4 technical support for commercial video and internet products. • Resolve escalated technical issues via phone, email, and video conferencing. • Manage lab equipment to replicate field issues and diagnose root causes. • Escalate unresolved issues to third-party manufacturers and internal development teams. • Assist with regression testing for new software and hardware releases. • Create and maintain technical resources, including release notes, installation manuals, and troubleshooting guides. • Track all support interactions using Salesforce to ensure efficient issue resolution. • Support pre-installation discussions and respond to requests for proposals (RFPs). • Assist product development teams in testing and improving new solutions. • Develop and lead training sessions for internal teams, partners, and customers. • Occasionally travel for conferences, expos, and site visits. Qualifications and Experience of Technical Support Engineer: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience (e.g., Network Engineer or Commercial TV Installation). • Preferred certifications: Cisco CCNA, CompTIA A+, Network+, Linux+, LPI Linux Essentials. • DOCSIS DEP certification preferred. • Strong understanding of networking and troubleshooting. • Experience with server administration is a plus. • Knowledge of Android products, debugging logs, and ADB commands. • Understanding of RF and QAM distribution concepts preferred. • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation. • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. • Strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining technical concepts. • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and adapt to business needs. • Logical, systematic thinker with creativity and flexibility.
